I was just about to post the exact same thing. Haha

Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond to appear in FIFA 23

EA Sports have confirmed that Emmy Award-winning show Ted Lasso will feature in FIFA 23.

AFC Richmond will be a playable team in kick-off, online friendlies, seasons and career mode, while other assets from the show will be available to unlock in Ultimate Team and pro clubs.

Title character Lasso, portrayed by acclaimed actor Jason Sudeikis, will also appear in the game and will be playable in career mode as either the manager of AFC Richmond or any other user-controlled side.

"I am truly fortunate, and deeply grateful, to have had many special moments in my career thus far, and I consider this experience among the best of them," Sudeikis said in a statement.

"As long-time fans of EA SPORTS FIFA, having Ted Lasso and the whole AFC Richmond squad incorporated into the newest version of the game is truly a dream come true for myself and the rest of the fellas. Our cast and crew work tremendously hard on this show, and we are flattered that it resonates with so many folks.

"We look forward to our fans having the opportunity to play with, play as, and even play against their
    favourite AFC Richmond characters."

The likes of Roy Kent, Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya and Dani Rojas will all appear in AFC Richmond's squad, while their Nelson Road home stadium - a re-skin of Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park - is also in line to feature.

Brett Goldstein, who plays Kent, said: "It is so f***ing cool to be in FIFA. I’m not sure this is going to help dispel the CGI rumours but f*** it, totally worth it.

"I look forward to beating my nephew in a game with me as Roy Kent and him as Jamie Tartt. He’s gonna be furious."

Saw gameplay on both old gen and next gen, and the gameplay on old gen is incredibly better all around.

    Next gen is just shinier.

Old gen and new gen are both on the same engine this year, so should be no difference in gameplay?

You're right, I got myself confused. The PC version is now the same as the next-gen consoles, whereas last year it was the previous-gen version.

    Hold L1 & R1 when shooting.

It used to be for low shots but now it’s for a ‘power shot’ which bizarrely makes the camera zoom in.

you can turn that off in the settings. i did the same for the timed shot in the last games. it's just not my jam.

the whole rating process for transfer deals during a manager career seem so unnecessary and it's actually a bit broken, in my opinion. had a player worth 1.5mil and sold him for 1.8mil, but was rated F because i could have gotten a few hundred thousand more. smh. being able to change names, nationalities, age, etc with a created team roster is a very welcome addition, i will say. the new menu layout is taking a bit of getting used to, as well as the new budget system. doesn't seem like you can change your wage vs transfer budget like you used to.

Do players like Messi and Mbappe still outstretched every other player and make defenders around them act like idiots?

I only play online seasons and it's difficult to find games unless you go 4 and a half stars or higher. And it's infuriating when everyone is PSG

What is off line mode like?

Want to get it but again, 22 is bringing back painful memories.

I haven't played any of the offline modes yet. I gather from Reddit etc that career mode is as buggy as ever.

i don't know about any bugs, but it could just be that i haven't encountered any. i only play manager career, so strictly offline for me. as always, though, the main issue is just a lack of engaging replayability to career mode that comes from ea not really understanding or caring how career mode players feel about that mode and what they'd like to see implemented in order to make it even a little better.

The cut scenes for signings were initially a welcome addition, but then you literally get the same two (one for crucial and important players, one for others) for incomings, and the same one for outgoings every single time.

Speaks to how EA has treated that mode, tbh. Some small cosmetic tweaks inconsequential to the actual gameplay to hype up before release as some sort of game changing update.

the same outgoing cutscene for sales and loans is just weird. the whole transfer rating thing is just pointless, as well.

Yeah, they always look so miserable to leave too and it looks like the manager and assistant are escorting them off the premises in disgrace.

The transfer rating is definitely useless. I don't think it has any say in your board confidence, right? At least not that I've noticed. If I transfer list someone, I'm not negotiating and just accepting any offer for him. Sometimes I've gotten a C for missing out on like 250K and other times I get an F for missing out on 25K for similarly rated players. No consistency at all.
