One thing I've learnt this season, and particularly since the turn of the year, is that when Liverpool are playing conceding a goal is always coming.
More of the same from us really. Too many backwards passes. Too many sloppy touches. Midfielders have been completely absent. What does Gravenberch actually do? He's young and is still adapting to the league but I'm really struggling to pick out something he excels at in midfield. No passing range. No defensive qualities. Takes 5 touches to control the ball. Doesn't score enough and doesn't seem a particularly hard worker either.
Ball progression is his game I think getting us up the pitch with rangey dribbling. Unfortunately we are just a bit shit atm.
Yup, another recent purchase that's failed to impress. Gakpo is the same, can't see either being here in 18 months.
He's not very good at that either since he can barely control the ball half the time. Hope I'm wrong about him obviously but I just don't see him making the cut here.
Not been super impressed myself but let's see what the new coach does hopefully he can get the talent out of him.
My fear now is lose today and probably should be looking nervously over their shoulders a bit... maybe that will centre their minds a bit rather than worrying about keeping pace in a title race.
Gakpo and Gravenberch both guilty of similar issues... poor first touches and not great putting themselves into the challenges.
