This is the new HBO series thats based on the series A Song of Ice and Fire. There are some pretty big names in the cast. Anyone read the "A Song of Ice & Fire" books that this is based on or am I the only one? Because the book series is awesome, just mind-blowingly great. I wonder how they'll approach this... will it be an exact copy of the books, or will it go down the Dexter route and be based on the books but different story? Also, if it's based on the books will it be Book 1 = Season 1, Book 2 = Season 2, etc? Can't wait for this show.
George Martin wants to get a move on and finish the next book. One release in a decade is pushing it a bit. As much as I rate the whole series, im not sure if i'll bother with the screen version.

I'm really looking forward to this. I was gonna read the books but I thought I'd hold off until I've seen a few episodes of this so I can have pictures of the characters in my head.
hehehe, You'll have a pretty interesting picture in your head after the first episode if the episode ends where I think it will (logical cliff hanger moment) Having said that they have cast very well
They've released the first 15 or so minutes of the series online There's no bad language but there are one or two slightly distressing scenes so if you are of a nervous disposition then dont watch it. only 10 and a half hours to go..... cant wait. I'm reading the feedback on the online forums about it. Most people are very happy but for a few minor differences. Apparently Jamie and Vicerys steal the episode. For people who haven't read the books there's plenty of action, killings, nudity and suprises in store for you.
I read that there's a lezzer scene including Roxanne McKee who used to be in Hollyoaks. I'll watch it for that.
Just watched the first episode. It was good, a lot was crammed into the hour with introducing the characters.
Just realised that Virgin don't have Sky Atlantic (They have all the others) So gonna have to scour the web to find the episode now.
I'm just a freeview peasant unfortunately. Am gutted to have missed this because they're my favourite ever books. Any guess as to how long before it's out on freeview or DVD?? From what I've seen and read about it the casting looks perfect and a lot of effort has gone into it. I just hope it wasn't too glammy and american.
