Welcome to the new season and hope that we will have all the usual suspects and a large group of new participants this time round Each week from 11 August until the end of the domestic season, I will post a minimum of 25 fixtures from various leagues, though mainly English matches. The chosen fixtures are usually posted on a Tuesday to allow plenty of time to make a selection. Each poster then must decide which teams they believe will score the most goals with each goal counting as 1 point. You will pick 10 different teams to score points and one (which you should mark in BOLD counts for double points - if the team selected scores 3 then you get 6 points for instance. An 11th team should also be chosen from the list of teams and you base this on the team NOT scoring any goals. If this team fails to score you get 3 points. Finally, if all 10 teams score goals and the 11th team does not score, you get a 5 point FULL HOUSE BONUS. Posts must be made prior to the games kicking off and once you have made the selection you should only edit prior to the kick offs. Any posts that have been edited after kick off of the earliest game will not be accepted. Exceptions will be allowed with postponments providing the game being selected has not already begun. If for any reason a game is postponed, you get 1 point for each team you have chosen to score goals and 0 points for the team that you have chosen as not scoring. Abandonned games will be the same unless goals have already been scored by the teams involved in which case points will be awarded in the normal manner. A full house bonus is only possible if it includes just 1 postponed team, anymore and no bonus is possible. In the absence of an 11th team (Your not to score team) Your last selection will then become that Not to score team, so if you had that as a double up that's bloody tough.. ----- Edit - Start of the 2017/18 Season New Scoring and Revised Format as follows :- The main game will be the same regarding gameplay however there will be a GOS cup that will include another forum which currently has 15 users, the first stages will be groups then knockout to the finals. All links between forums will be posted (Both forums are open access so no worries about locked content)
I'll be missing the weeks of the 18th and 25th, so can you stick them up early too please Mr K@mps? You forgot to put in the rules that you have to win otherwise you won't play again.
I will do that just for you Mr Stam. When are you departing and I'll ensure that you have the opportunity to participate in those 2 weeks
Stret you're asking the wrong person. Last season was a deliberate ploy to regain interest in the competition
Simply to help the organising committee to quickly calculate the scores - if you manage to come up with the total once the games have been played you get a point if you quote your original post and put down what points each of the selections got you
As I'll not be here for the first 3 weeks, can I have a point for each week anyway because I always add them up correctly and post them?
If someone does it for you I might consider that!!! I know you usually are well behaved and count them up correctly! In fact I might even do it for you mesel just for the comedy value.......
It will be a good laugh seeing as I've picked the first 3 weeks with absolutely no form to go on! Edit: Hold on, I may be able to do the first week myself as I don't leave until Sunday.
Is it still lose a point for each goal that your eleventh team scores? I ask for the benefit of others, I fully expect to be picking up the three points every week!
Just to clarify, if all your selected teams score but the team you've picked not to get a goal do score - you don't get any bonus points? Bloody 85th minute Alloa goal lost me 9 points
Right , Kamps I've been playing this and totalling my scores up and I failed to read the bit about the extra point.......Now I've done it every time from the deadline so can I have those points added to my total even at this late stage..
