Mate, Finland have players who couldn't get into Cheltenham Town's side. They're a non-league side with a Championship centre forward.
Genuinely made up for Finland. They've not shamed themselves, particular if you consider they've played Belgium and then two of the hosts in their group. Three points more than I expected and really nice to see them at a tournament.
Be interesting to see whether Danish fans suffer the same fate as the Welsh fans in not being allowed to Amsterdam. Denmark isn't on the safe list of countries that don't require self-isolation (Safe countries with a low COVID-19 risk), which is the reason that was given for Welsh fans not being allowed in to the country. I'd expect the neutrals to be supporting Denmark in the ground, and for their to be a fair amount of Danish living in Amsterdam, which I don't particularly mind. I just don't want their to be 15,000 of them which would make a real difference and really put us up against it.
Denmark played well but the Russians did their normal spineless performance under pressure. Will be tough wev'e been playing in 32 degree head across the continent the Danes playing on their home patch in front of a capacity crowd. Amsterdam will be a good leveller !
Because they have better GD in the H2H league due to Russia's heavy defeat tonight It finished like this 1. Denmark P2 W1 D0 L1 F4 A2 GD+2 Pts3 2. Finland P2 W1 D0 L1 F1 A1 GD0 Pts3 3. Russia P2 W1 D0 L1 F2 A4 GD-2 Pts3
That’s a highly focused and motivated team. Most neutrals will be rooting for them. Going to be tough.
On our board somebody posted UK is the only European country on Netherlands ‘red list’ and whilst Denmark is not on the safe list EU Schengen countries like Denmark can still travel with negative PCR test. No idea if correct but seemed like a post that had been researched.
BBC reporting that Danish fans are also being told the same as Welsh fans - Euro 2020: Wales fans 'won't be allowed in' to Netherlands "Wales and Denmark fans will be unable to travel to Amsterdam for their Euro 2020 match in the Netherlands." I can't see anything online about a 'red list' for the Netherlands, only a safe countries list.
