Hi all just a Hello from an Australian now living in the UK. I used to hate the game but it has now grown on me.... I wonder if I can get any of you into Australian rules? I have seen a few games here and follow Luton for my sins (married to one) But love the banter and the feel of a live game. May need further education. Best wishes, Caz.
G’day Caz, from a Brummie now living in Melbourne. What footie team did you follow over here? I live near Footscray so I follow the local side, Western Bulldogs. Please don’t say you like Collingwood or our relationship will be a short one.
My aunt lives in Tapping, just north of Wanneroo. I spent a couple of years based in Perth working FIFO. I didn't like the city that much back then as I was single and in my early 20's, so it was one of the most boring cities in Australia for me, but it is still a beautiful city and I miss it a lot. Welcome to the forum. Hope to see you around.
World gets smaller, I lived on Taywood drive, near the play park and had friends who lived in Tapping, not sure why you would even contemplate living anywhere north of Joondana on a short visit as south is where the (alleged) action is... I do love Perth and especially Northbridge and east of the CBD... Just have to look but yes Perth is a boring place (like me). Looking forward to chatting about and being educated about football.
I went the other way to you. Live SOR near Rockingham. Sorry to say but I am a Docker. When I got here (just over 4yrs ago) I didn’t want to be a glory hunter and follow the best team so I went for the Dockers. Didn’t realise how shit they are though!!!
Shame.... Failure is inherent especially when you follow Stoke... !!! Towing that anchor gives you back ache, fly free like an Eagle and the world opens up.
Stoke I can do nothing about. My hometown club and in my blood so nothing will ever change that. The last 2 seasons, and this one in particular, are really tough to take after having 10 decent years in the Premier League.
A lot of that song summed the city up perfectly I spent a bit of time in Northbridge as there was a hostel nearby I liked to stay in when it wasn't full. I remember having a week off from work during Easter and tried going out Easter Monday but every bar, club and liquor shop were closed up
Yes about the city being closed... And people ask me why I am religious (nothing to do in Perth on a Sunday). True words... Where in the city do you reside?
Welcome @CazCat I see you like eagles. Clearly you need to ditch Luton Town and support Crystal Palace. We even have a fond history of Aussie players!
It's a trade off I support Luton Town while my husband has to follow West Coast... Keeps a marriage ticking over.
