Hello everyone, another dreaded Yank here hoping to join in on the community. I hope to get to know a lot of you and hope to learn a lot here. A little info about me, I'm 25, living in Maryland and I love West Ham. Feel free to ask me anything, and I'll do my best to answer.

    Hello. Why West Ham?

Because of the film Green Street. I know thats not really a good reason, but I loved how passionate they were for west ham, I liked that.

I play football here with another Yank Hammer, though he has been one for years, and it had nothing to do with nonsense like Green Street...

Anyway, welcome- hopefully after the World Cup, some of the 'national fervour' will rub off permanently on a few Yanks and they'll come to love REAL football, not that suited-up version of rugby they play over here...!! ;-)

I know that's not a good reason and its kind of cringe worthy, but I wasn't going to be another one of those glory hunting ameri****s. I like the history of the club and seeing that film made me want to do my homework about the club.

Fair enough- you don't have to justify yourself to anyone, especially given that you weren't born into a community in the UK (and therefore tied to a club by birth/family, like most of us)- as long as you stick with your club for life, then that's fine- the one thing we ALL hate are people who claim to follow a club but then abandon them when the good times end (glory-hunters).

(The irony of a United fan typing this won't be lost on many, though I myself have been a Red since 1977, when no-one could have accused anyone of following United for anything resembling 'glory'...!!)

It's a fair enough reason mate! West Ham are having a great season. Do they get much coverage out in the States?

Unfortunately no. Although the chelsea game was televised. Unless they are playing one of the bigger clubs, I have to watch online, which is fine by me.

Welcome, Pudge. I don't know if you've found out yet but West Ham won the World cup in 1966.

Are you a Colts fan too?

There are plenty of good streams over the internet for matches. If you want I can pm you the most reliable ones. Not sure if there'll work over there but it's worth a try.
