Me and my girlfriend are planning on going away for a week in September.. And we have narrowed it down to those two locations.. And i dont know which one to go for, both are roughly the same place. Mf gf has been to Bulgaria before.. and said it was really cheep for food, drink etc.. but could that have changed since they are now on the Euro? So if you could choose between those two places, where would you pick? And if anyone has been to either of them, could you let me know what it's like?
I loved Bulgaria(although I only went to Sofia) and hated Turkey(although I only went to Istanbul). Neither were "holiday" resorts, but based on the people, Bulgaria was a much nicer place.
I say Turkey simply because I've seen a picture of a woman taking a shit in the middle of the street there. And also cause Turkey looks very nice.
Just a quick one gers_fan1, but have you ever done anything in your life without consulting the oracle that is ff first?
I'm a man who likes to get others opinion before i make any decisions.. and the FF users are reasonably honest
Both countries are appealing but I'm in more of a hurry to see Turkey* so that's my vote, gersfan1. * Though not the touristy destinations like Bodrum...the cities appeal to me.
I'd say it depends what you're looking for in a holiday Gers Fan. If you just want somewhere cheap to get lagered Bulgaria is probably better. If you'd be interested in sampling a different culture and doing some sightseeing I'd suggest Turkey.
whats wrong with turkey? they got some gaffs that look alright, all inclusive joints whwere you needn't leave the hotel, right in the beach, some of em look quite good plus its really hot.
x 3 Not after seeing the film Midnight Express about an American that gets locked in a Turkish prison for alleged drug smuggling think his name was Timothy Davy
I went to Bulgaria last year for six weeks...it's cheap and it's not the EURO the currency is LEVA, I think you mean it might have become expensive since Bulgaria become a EU (accension country). I also been to Turkey, loved the country too.
I bet you haven't travelled around the whole of the country and experienced an earthquake there like I have.
Bulgaria or Turkey? Have you got a ****ing death wish? I'd never go anywhere near those dirty countries.
