Sounds like we experienced the same one! To those who are put of Turkey because of its apparent dodgeyness well i have been Bulgaria twice and trust me it can be a dodgey place to say there in the EU.
Drove through Serbia too mate, enjoyed it. The drive throught the mountains and villages near the border of Bulgaria. Got alot of bang for my 5 Euros at the services as well Belgrade is mental!
Straight throught it, stayed in a little hotel of the side of the road bout 20/30 miles south of Belgrade
Well i was on the North Coast in Samsun, was only little shake there. But flew back home via Istanbul.
1 Its full of Turks 2 It full of English holiday makers 3 Exactly, I want more from a holiday than sat next to a pool or on a beach all day. What's wrong with Belgrade? I'm possibly going in the summer. Fly to Graz then a few days each in Graz, Zagreb, Belgrade and Budapest
Mental- but positive way. Belgrad have great night life. Specially at summer with all that boat-restaurants-discotheques: It's cheap for you lot, with great food and probably the best looking girls in this part of world.
Bit of a narrow minded view? I don't pass judgement on countries or their people until I visit them. Don't let a few kebab owners in this country put you off.
Turkey isn't dirty. I think of a lot more places I would call dirty. I can't comment on Bulgaria, as I haven't been, but I have been to Turkey twice and loved it. I went to Hisaronu, up the mountains from Olu Deniz. Gorgeous place.
Being half Turk myself i find it quite laughable, there are pricks from every country but anyone who has ever been to Turkey will tell you there very nice people. And yeh there are some hotties in Serbia
Just booked yesterday to go to Bulgeria myself with the missus and a few mates, the Sunny Beach area. Been told it's cheap as fook out there, so looking forward to it. We we're going to go to Greece, but was told Bulgeria is just as nice and ALOT cheaper when you get out there. Plus been to Greek islands before, so nice to go somehwere different.
Went past there last summer travelling (Burgas to Varna) Sunny Beach is full of tourists and prices are 4 times as much than the rest of Bulgaria. Shop & eat where the locals go. I did the whole of Bulgaria in six weeks, lovely country.
The only place worth going to in Egypt is Sharm-el-Sheikh. The pyramids/temples etc become really boring after the first day.
