Yeah, things were changing for the good until around 2015 but have regressed hard since then. Social media's the culprit really. It allows bad actors to spout racist nonsense and broadcast it unchallenged and as it gets high engagement, social media companies do nothing about it. If you're on Reddit, then you'll know how openly far-right and racist r/europe is these days. They've tamped down on it a bit since the AfD's conference about deporting non-white Germans was met with agreement but its still there. Forums, such as this one, have an advantage in that they can more easily clamp down on bad actors but this lives and dies on the admins/actions of the admins. It's not been an issue on this site until recently, at least comparatively, but constant vigilance is a must. The admins set the tone and if they're lax about it, this site will get infested with far-right racist rhetoric too.
