Yeah, having two good keepers can't be a bad thing. It will keep both goalkeepers on there toes and to take every opportunity they get to play in goal and perform. With Mignolet at number two, you could make a handful of mistakes and realise Migs can't do any better, so you won't likely be dropped.
Performed very well so far, 4 conceded in last 7 games. I'd love Alisson but if Karius can keep it up that's £60m we could invest elsewhere.
I'd be stunned if he is our number one next season. He is surely finished at Liverpool. If I was him I would hand in a transfer request out of respect for the club.
Nothing against him personally but on a professional level it would be foolish to ignore last night. When he came into the side I thought that if he proved himself between now and end of the season then he deserves the gloves next season. Unfortunately he has proved that he is not up to the job mentally and the technique for Bales second goal was poor. We need to go big for a top draw keeper.
Nice to see I was right about him. He was number one, but I had reservations, probably the worst performance in a cl final ever. Two big mistakes ruined the saves he made. First one was stupid...second one was just indecision, punch it til last second then catch it.... Horrible. I hope we buy a new keeper, but can't say for sure Allison is the answer, when I've seen him live he hasn't exactly been amazing... Although no mistakes but he parties into danger s lot. Gutted for Marius but hopefully his last game for us.
He made 2 mistakes has been good since Christmas he shouldn’t have to leave the club because of 2 ****ing mistakes. We were never winning that game without Salah anyway so wind your ****ing neck in. Easily good enough to be number 2 still.
Needs replacing as number 1, been saying that even whilst he was in decent form. You need to have 100% confidence i your goalie, as nice a lad Karius seems to be, he just doesn't give me that. Decent as a back up, but no way good enough to be a number 1 for a club wanting to win things.
I was angry as anyone yesterday, 2 awful howlers in the champions league final is unforgivable. But you’ve got to feel for him because other than that he actually had a good game with multiple decent saves. Psychologically though he’s done, it’d take something amazingly special for him to recover from that here. Only problem is now every potential selling club has just put a premium on their keepers. Liverpool need to spend big, there’s no point going for a Butland as we need a world class upgrade. Have an awful feeling though we won’t go for one as there’s other areas of the team that need strengthening too. If that’s the case we need to get a new goalkeeping coach asap.
