Yes he was tested for prostrate cancer . Wish the king well. Horrible illness for anyone . Hopefully been caught early .
I wouldn't wish a diagnosis of that bastard disease on my worst enemy and, on a human level, I hope not just for the King's recovery but also that his immediate family can collectively find the strength they need to do what they need to do in the time immediately ahead. In that, I particularly think of Princes William and Harry as - probably like many other members of this forum - I know only too well what goes through your mind when you make that first journey to be with a parent after such a diagnosis and the sense of utter uselessness you can feel at times during their treatment. Perhaps it's because of my own experience that this next thought came into my mind after hearing the news, and particularly after reading the statement issued by the Palace, earlier this evening. While I understand its upbeat tone and the emphasis on the King continuing to fulfil his constitutional functions as head of state, the lack of information about his prognosis does trouble me. It may just be me, and some may well argue that we don't need to know at this time, but I don't see that there would be anything to gain from withholding an expectation of full recovery having revealed the fact of a diagnosis. I really hope this is not the case, but I can't help wondering whether this situation may be more serious than we are currently being told that it is.
I agree, but I can't see him abdicating extremely soon unless the cancer is quite serious. He's just taken the throne, if he thinks he can still do some good in the job I imagine he'll not want to step aside so quickly.
Depends on how the treatment affects him I'd have thought. I'd be very surprised if they haven't caught this at the earliest point possible giving him the best chance of beating it. At that level of wealth and power I'd be having head to toe check ups every 6 months.

It's a vile disease that destroys so many lives The NHS response to cancer is really good - when I had my scare a couple of years ago they'd done everything and ruled it out in 10 days. In Charles case thats really not going to be something he needs to worry about
If nothing else, this openness about the diagnosis will highlight the importance of early diagnosis and the fatal dangers of delay in recognising and treating cancers. It has also reinforced to me how lucky I was with my doctors and the local NHS provision generally back in the 1980s when I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer and both diagnosis and treatments were much less effective. After years of treatment, I'm still here and my annual check is this evening. Survival rates if it is caught early are now up to 80% (less in the past) and I am one of those 6-8/10. It drops to 45% if the cancer gets from the lining to the bladder wall and I don't want to be reminded of the figures when it gets to Stage 3 and Stage 4 because it was missed early. It would have been more helpful if they hadn't decided to keep secret the type of cancer he has though?
Perhaps the thought was that it would keep a lid on speculation that wasn't particularly helpful to a general raising of awareness and would help avoid delving into the details of his treatments and prospects. I don't begrudge him that. Anyway, I got the all clear on my check (by the way, the cameras are really HD these days). I'm home early because we didn't get 10 minutes play at the Abbey before the inevitable abandonment was initiated.
I hope he gets through this. I do worry for him though, given the type of cancer hasn't been confirmed.
Got to feel for William - first his father is being treated for cancer and now his wife. Doesn't matter who they are that is going to affect them.
Certainly a hard time for all of them. Like I said when Charles was diagnosed, I would have thought they would have been tested and screened on a near weekly basis. Hope she, along with Charles, will fight this shite disease
So sad as she is a wife and mother,i'm not a big fan of the royal family but she always comes across as lovely lady i just hope she can overcome whatever cancer she has got for William and their children.
