Seems about on par with Megson for us who had us in a relegation battle in this league by the time he went.

Did Megson make players use imaginary weights and send players texts about Al Quaeda?

Well I don't know, he did bring in a couple of fans in at half time to have a go at the players once but they basically threw every away game to get him sacked most infamous being a 3-0 at Chester in the FA Cup

    Reading deducted another 3 points.

Maybe needs to be a big one and they might learn their lesson !?

The EFL are f*cking useless when it comes to punishing clubs who financially take the piss. :angryfire

Megson absolutely lost the plot with you didn't he?. That's up there with Phil Brown having a Hull half time team talk on the pitch at Man City.

A bigger deduction would just kill the club sooner.

What are we as a club supposed to do? We are completely reliant on an owner who the EFL passed the fit and proper test on (after the owner had been rejected for taking over Premierleague Hull previously for being unlikely to pass the PL fit and proper test).
We cannot generate much funds, as we are in the middle of 3 out of 4 years of transfer embargoes so don't have masses of players to sell. The club does not own the stadium.
We have an owner who has owned 3 football clubs - the other 2 no longer exist.

All EFL points deductions are doing are punishing fans and staff of the club for actions that the EFL could have avoided.

The club, and EFL have no power to remove the owner. So it's just a case of how bad will it get?

And there is the problem as i posted earlier The EFL are f*cking useless. If this keeps happening your club will be f*cked which isn't fair on your fans, the only club i want to see going tits up is MK Dons.

    Fair points .

Not the fault of the teams and fans but they are the ones who get hurt .

Readings situation reminds me of Bolton under that tvvat Ken Anderson. I hope you find a way out. Feel for anyone who goes through it.

I don't want to defend our owner but a lot of the issues are due to the fact his money is in China and there are huge problems with moving cash out of the country.

The overspending was a big cock up on his part not understanding the EFL P&S rules and appointing a twat like Ron Gourlay to run things. All the rest of the issues stem from there.

I have no idea what his motives are now, the club say he is looking for investment but we see no evidence of that and he himself says nothing.

Darren Caskey and Andy Bernal punched me in a Harvester's Inn in Brackley one time. I only asked them to sign my Urban Hymns album. Thankfully they never fell under my agency.

But above you just said they’re useless for not punishing clubs properly for financially taking the piss?

We’re hardly Man City are we. Who the **** are we buying? We’ve had 16 points deducted over 3 seasons and lately all it’s for is because our **** of an owner isn’t paying his staff.

You do not have to be 'big' to go up. Posh have showed that on numerous occasions in the last 15 years. Its the staying up that the 'big' thing helps.

    Not sure who you support.

Edit - Just saw, Peterborough. Yeah, forgot he went there. Didn't even suffer him gor a full season though.

I was talking from the perspective of 'big' clubs and the issues that are caused from high expectations and pressure and an impatient crowd wanting instant success. Obviously smaller clubs can succeed in League One and regularly get promoted which was kind of my point. Sometimes smaller clubs can have an advantage in terms of the lower pressure and less expectation

Agree that size helps once in The Championship because the higher income from having bigger crowds helps to generate the revenue to have a competitive budget. It's difficult to survive long with small crowds and gravity usually kicks in after 2 or 3 years. You have parachute clubs coming down with loads of money and nearly half the division getting 20,000 plus crowds these days. It's very difficult to compete with 8-12,000 crowds.

We actually played some brilliant football for about two months. He then lost a couple of the bounce and ended up using about 77 players in the next 15 games as he started to panic.

Well I didn't expect Bolton to lose away at reading today but we did. Not been a disaster start but could have been better also. It will be interesting to see if the surprise teams like Exeter and port vale Stevenage stay in the top 6 or if they start slipping down the table as I had all them 3 sides finish 18th or lower.
