Yeah Real Madrid and Barcelona are apparently just tourist attractions now rather than football teams . Glad you had fun . As others have said though, that useless **** didn't play :p.

He's dropped off the radar a bit since going abroad but has always been rated a good prospect.

Behave yourself Brian, we had a go on Sunday and caused problems. . . with 10 men. And we aren't worse than last year ffs. Last year we got twatted by City at the Etihad, this year we ran them close. Look at the League table at the end of the season.

Still a poor move by Rodgers. If Real could finish a bit better that was a toning in the makings. Even at 1-0 you never saw Real rattled or remotely concerned. And people arguing you use your depth. Fair point, but you don;t use your depth away to Real Madrid, you go with your best and have a go.

Lose on Sunday and I think Brenton will be in hot water.

god help Van Gaal then with no 2nd place finish the previous season to fall back on, less points & the memory of that 4-0 thrashing to Mk Dons still fresh in the memory.

Yes, because Brenton's track record and achievements are on the same planet as Van Gaal:confused The fact you got so close last year yet are so far away this year makes it worse.

    Absolute whopper.

Nobody gives a toss what Van Gaal did 20 years ago. He's doing a worse job than Moyes did spending 5x the amount in the process right now, long may it continue.

Like I said, you'll be flying a banner over the Stretford End soon enough.

Of course, you're playing fantastic stuff, winning possession and all that :rolleyes ...you keep deluding yourself son.

City had lost their last two games prior, they aren't anything like last seasons City.

Edit, tonights shambles of a performance confirms this is a Man City in piss poor form.

We use what we want, who the **** are you to tell Rodgers who to play? Real weren't remotely concerned? Yeah right, that would be why they subbed their superstars off right?

Nice, stealing other posters childish names for Rodgers?

His place is more secure than Van Gaal's that's for sure.

Who gives a shit about Van Gaals past achievements, if anything the fact he's so experienced and started off so poorly is worse...but hey hum, at least you're playing great stuff like...

    Deluded tosser.

Is Mourinho getting stick for resting players and getting a bad result?

After the Newcastle game and the way Real Madrid toyed with us at Anfield i'm just glad we changed it because playing the same team would have seen us battered again. We needed Lucas and Can to come in to tighten up the midfield, Johnson and Balotelli haven't done enough to keep their place and Toure deserved a chance over Lovren and has big game CL experience. Sterling and Henderson have looked tired lately as well, not being used to playing all the extra games before.

It was the best bit of management we've seen this season from Rodgers, and first time this season he's really shown balls, because he hasn't been utilising his squad effectively. Just don't revert back to type.

Yeah, I'll add what I posted in the champions league thread, so tossers like UnitedRoad can comment...

Its strange Mourinho seems to have escaped the same criticism Rodgers did, after all, he dropped/rested half the Chelsea first team :shrug

At least most of the players Rodgers dropped/rested "deserved" dropping, what's Jose's excuse? Courtios? Cahill? Oscar? Azphilwhateverhisnameis? Costa? Why didn't these start? None have been in as poor form as our lot, so?

Somehow, I don't expect many replies from those that slated Rodgers...

    Absolutely!!!

Chelsea should beat Maribor no matter what the squad, the 6-0 two weeks ago proved that. Liverpool went away to the best team in the world and effectively admitted they had no chance. They probably didn't, and the point about players deserving to be dropped is a fair one, but what about the fans who travelled and saw effectively a second string?

Second string? So £25m and £20m players are second string?

Lets see who actually got dropped/rested

Lovren - Been woeful and very static in his games so far, Toure came in and was our MOTM
Johnson - Very much the butt of everyones jokes these days? Manquillo is an upgrade
Gerrard - Well, we've bene told by everyone Gerrard is finished and Rodgers doesn't have the bottle to drop him...erm hello?
Balotelli - Hasn't exactly been in form, Borini deserves his chance Once again everyone (non Liverpool and Liverpool fans) have been screaming for him to be dropped.
Sterling - Has looked jaded and out of form, also been heavily linked with Real, probably a good move
Henderson - The one player I wouldn't have dropped...but his replacement came in and done very well.

    Those that replaced them

Toure - massively experienced player, couldn't do no worse than Lovrens current form
Manquillo - Upgrade on Johnson as I've said
Lucas - once again, massive experience and as good a game we've had off him for a while. He only looks poor when paired with Gerrard anyway.
Lallana - Yeah that shitty £25m 5th choice/reserve/academy player that shouldn't be near the first team? :rolleyes
Can - Massive prospect and would have played a lot more had he not been injured for over a month
Markovic - One of the brightest prospects in europe, £20m signing
Borini - Well, given their form, no worse or better than Balotelli

When are people going to realise that the players that came in are at least equal quality to those dropped rested, barring maybe Sterling and Henderson

I asked these same questions to fans criticising Rodgers selection twice in the CL thread and twice they were ignored, so I'll ask a third time.

    1. For all those criticising Rodgers team selection, what's Liverpool's strongest 11?

    2. What's the point in spending over £100m trying to improve squad depth if you can't use it?

Do these people also think the likes of Balotelli, Lovren, Sterling and co would have been dropped if they were in form? Not a chance.

Fact of the matter is, they've all been poor and deserved dropping/resting...yes folks, even Sterling. Many of us have mentioned for a few weeks he's been poor and looked tired.

Do you ever talk about the club you "claim" to support? You seem to have this Liverpool obsession mentality about you.

It's also not hard to get a "seige mentality" when we have a chain of obsessive trolls, constantly chatting shit about Lierpool.

Go talk about your own club ffs...whoever that may truly be.
