Jonathan Majors Fired By Disney/Marvel Studios After Assault Guilty Verdict – Deadline This has been hanging over the MCU since the story over his allegations broke. He is a very talented actor who has thrown everything away by being a shit human being. I think the MCU have a good opportunity to write Kang out with how Loki ended and pivot to Dr Doom as the main villain with Secret Wars on the horizon but given Avengers Kang Dynasty is on the roster they need to recast or pivot hard.
Sucks hopefully he gets help he clearly has issues despite his talent as an actor. Time to pivot to Javier Bardem playing Dr Doom. They could easily just recast and pretend it's a Kang variant though so interesting to see what happens.
you'd think they'd have due diligence done but the same happened with covid and mandalorian so these people can hide a lot of things. I'd just recast? nobody cares what the guy looked like in looking v the next show.
Got to be honest having read some of the testimony and watched/listened to the clips released, I am surprised at this verdict. There is CCTV footage of her attacking him, him running away and her chasing him for a couple of blocks until giving up as he outruns her. The misdemeanour assault that he's been found guilty of is for injuring her whilst trying to get away during her assaulting him in that clip. Not sure what other evidence there was for the harassment, must have been something, but there was an audio clip released of him telling her he didn't want her drinking to excessive levels anymore when she goes out. Guess that is considered controlling behaviour nowadays.
Not gonna comment on Majors because I'm not familiar with what happened at all. Purely from fan POV though, I hope they move away from Kang. His arc has sucked so far. He lost a 1v1 to Ant-man. Makes him look weak as hell. Not to mention, all this multiverse stuff has been very underwhelming.
Agreed in general. Dr Doom would be much more interesting as a villain, although would require them to set him up very very quickly.
Think the Loki stuff was good but yeah Quantumania kinda set the character back. Hopefully they have a plan to move to Doom or someone else.
Was thinking this could end up working out well. The multiverse saga hasn't really worked, I think it's a bit too complex for the casual viewer to get their head around/can be arsed to get their head around. And it's left too many dangling threads with all the Disney Plus shows and different variants etc. I think Disney know they've got it wrong and the recent box office shows it. This gives them the excuse to basically retcon everything from the last few years and pivot in a different direction with a bigger focus on the cinema films rather than the Disney Plus shows. It'll be jarring, but they can blame Majors and say they were forced into it rather than have to embarrassingly accept that they've got the whole narrative wrong and they need to ditch everything because people don't like it. I've read that the next Avengers film name has been changed to the code name 'Avengers 5' rather than 'Avengers, The Kang Dynasty'. Which suggests they're going to write Kang out completely and pivot away from him rather than keeping the existing story going and recasting him. I suspect it'll now be heavily delayed now too if they're going to completely rewrite it and go in a different direction.
Apparently they are looking at recasting Kang with some guy called Coleman Domingo not seen anything he's in but he's apparently really good. Still prefer the pivoting to Dr Doom idea.
I never watched Daredevil when it was on Netflix, but i noticed they have transferred all of the Netflix shows onto Disney+ so should definitely watch it now. Have nearly finished watching Echo and thats been pretty good
Would highly recommend Daredevil it's one of the best TV shows ever made not just marvel. Punisher is great too. The others defenders stuff is hit & miss.
Yeah Daredevil was great. Punisher was ok. Luke Cage was meh and Iron Fist is a ****ing wet blanket. Didn't watch Jessica Jones but only heard good things.
Jessica Jones was probably between Punisher & Luke Cage for me personally. David Tennant as the villain edges it ahead of Luke Cage.
Difficult part is the shows all connect so you can't really just watch all the daredevil seasons straight through without watching the other shows in order, similar to the films
finished Echo good enough as a standalone series, ending felt slightly rushed in the end and a bit meh. The end credits scene is very tantilising though Spoiler it sets up future storylines for Daredevil, Kingpin, Spidey and others moving forwards, with Kingpin becoming the corrupt Mayor of NY
The casino Wolverine doesn't look like Jackman from the back. Obvious rumours are Egerton and Radcliffe, I'd take the former as the future MCU Wolverine.
like how they are using the TVA as a get out clause for getting the expanded universe... its like it was future proofing the franchise or something?
