I’d like to see more of Williams - he had a boss game last night and he may be the cover we need at full back. I’d give him a chance rather than buy or use other players out of position.

Think you are being a touch harsh on Phillips, by all accounts he's been very well received by Stuttgart.

To be expected with Larouci really, he's only changed to playing full back from Left Winger in the last year or so .

Well that sure explains his positioning last night.

  4. chirivella might but I think he's a luis alberto type. He did well yesterday but I don't see him doing that work level required for the prem. He will 100% play in spain imo. He's been trying to get his move for 12 months or more.

Agree on phillips. He might develop a bit more physically as he ages and make a good championship level player.

Agree on williams and elliott and jones. 18,16,18 to turning 19 and will save us near 100mil if we were to go out and buy. I we can slowly bring elliott along and phase him into the side (if shaqiri doesn't leave) then we'd be made to block his progress.

I love that we have moved from a reactive type planning system to a really long term view. Minamino hopefully will be an absolute steal and williams is a huge break for klopp. Ht eminute he saw him he wanted to keep him with the firsts. thats brilliant for klopp but such great feedback for the academy.

The 'best full back in the world' given the run around by a lad younger than Greta Thunberg lol.

On Minamino, thought that was a tough game for him to come into having not played for nearly 4 weeks (since the game against us) and played lone down the middle. Thought Origi was poor for the most part first half and didn't get inside to support Minamino (who is a number 10 naturally) nearly enough. Especially since Everton played 3 CBs.

But he got himself about, put a real shift in and had a great opportunity which he'd at least produce an effort on target had he been more up to speed. Looking forward to seeing him link up within the usual starting 11.

Yeah, perhaps a bit harsh on Phillips, just thought he looked very clumsy early on. Never easy coming into games with so many young players playing though I guess, he did grow into the game. Perhaps playing next to Van Dijk would transform him into the next Alan Hansen though, wouldn't surpise me ;)

  8. He's been brought back from Stuttgart and thrown into a level he's not used to (lower level by the look of everton) with very unfamiliar players and had very little training. Probably why, 3/4 sessions given the winter break in German must be starting?

The lads 22 now and he doesn't look like a toughened up CB. He's played his 9 games with stuttgart and just had his 10th senior game. He could do an ayala i guess. If he has as good a career say as jack hobbs or say zak whitbread then he will have done well for himself imo.

We've actually had a few CBs come through the ranks to make pro careers i suppose, none for us since carra.

Don’t get me wrong- he won’t make it here, but he should have a decent career at a championship side, doesn’t look too far off where Coady was at the same age.
