They can't defend. They can't attack unless they have both full-backs pushed really high up. They could turn this around today but on the assumption they do lose, it would be 34 points from 22 games. Manchester United and West Ham have the same amount of points from the same time period and Chelsea have only two less. The reason I count 22 games is it excludes their ridiculous start where they won 8 out of 10 and took 26 points from the opening 30. That start is inflating the perceived level of Spurs and masking the actual level of them. To be fair to the sensible people that analyse/support Spurs, there's an acceptance that it is only the first year of the Ange project. But there are voices out there pushing this Spurs team to a level it clearly isn't at. And they are not ready for Champions League football either.
Think they are okay most of the time because they are better than a lot of the teams in the league but when they come up against players on their level or above they get exposed a bit. The fullbacks definitely aren't the greatest defensively.
And with Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool more performances like this will see them slip out of the top 4/5.
Maddison lucky not to see red for that. He may not have connected with the force but it is studs up and he clearly only had one thing on his mind.
Darren Fletcher making the point that as things stand Villa will go above us in the table before they even kick a ball. Spursy is a lifestyle guys
Spurs losing is normally funny, especially when it happens in a way that backs up my assertion that Ange is tactically naive and has no Plan B when things aren't working. But when it's against vile, sportswashing ***** like Newcastle, it takes the shine off somewhat.
