It's that time of year when every fan of a 3rd & 4th tier team is tingling with excitement at the prospect of this scintillating competition & the prospect of a " BIG " day out at Wembley in the Spring , our Chairman wants us to really have a good go at this , I'd rather concentrate on the league , but hey ho . Home to Stevenage for Posh , our 3rd match of the season already lost the other 2 , reckon 1,500 tops crowd wise .
Out to Lincoln, huge MEH from me, allowing premier under 21's in it was the time I lost interest in it. Glad we are out.
Agree with you regarding the introduction of Premier League teams. However it's a group stage isn't it? Don't think anyone has gone out at this point.
Bit of troubling news from last night's loss to Stevenage with a teenage Posh fan ejected from the ground for alledgedly making racist comments towards one of his own players in which he admitted to Cambridgeshire Constabulary who last season arrested 2 Birmingham fans for similar who subsequently had their charges dropped so innocent until proven guilty . Surprised that 2,420 ( 68 ) Stevenage paid £12 to watch , used to be " free " for STH's & was £10 on Posh+ TV but well done Stevenage their 2nd X1 has beaten us twice in a week home & away .
Am I reading this right? The little racist scumbag admitted being a little racist scumbag to the police but we have to treat him as innocent until proven guilty? Anyway, I've only popped in to wish those tax dodging twats all the best in this prestigious competition
Yep , according to Peterborough Today , escorted out by and witnessed by a steward & admitted in a voluntary statement to Cambridgeshire Constabulary , the lad's 16 but until he's convicted in a court of law it's just paper talk albeit looks bad on our fans being a family club .
I'm all for the innocent until proven guilty thing, but I'm not sure that counts when someone admits to the offence. Surely an admission of the offence is an admission of guilt?
We had our biggest ever crowd in this competition on Tuesday (over 6000) although over half of them were from Wednesday. A good win and it made me realise how strong how second string side is. 40/1 for us to win the cup is too good to turn down.
Was hoping McCann was going to put out a rubbish team against Spurs so we can get knocked out but he's picked 6/7 players who played last Saturday & will probably play next Saturday in the hope of not having 7 defeats on the bounce . £12 to watch as well , what a rip off !
Good comment from a Posh Fan on Twitter, it should be Cambridge v Northampton not Northampton v Cambridge so it gets shortened to CU v NT
What a pointless load of shite the frozen pizza trophy is....Newcastle u21s vs our second sting......time the ridiculous format was ditched, along with the u21 teams.
Agreed. We’ve got Arsenal u21s. They’ve reduced it to a glorified training exercise for the Premier league. It’s a shame.
Agree with @Arkwright & @Thijssen about this comp despite a 3-0 win v Spurs kids & winning it in 2014 I'm proud to say I've never watched a live game in it in my life & will never do so , I'm surprised that 1,898 have turned up at London Road tonight .
Prenton Park looks the place to be for extra slices of Pizza & Garlic Bread tonight with an absolute goalfest , 8 so far & dirty Leeds down to 10 , wonder how many are watching ?
Winner takes all for 2nd spot at Adams Park Wycombe 9 v 7 Posh , changes from Saturday's match & our goalscorer from Saturday Harrison Burrows is Posh captain tonight , been at Posh since he was 8 , now a 20 year old , must be proud day for him even in a crap tournament .
After missing an absolute shed load of chances we inevitably go 1 down , then Fuchs our poor man's Kante limps out injured , we bring Clarke-Harris on who grabs an equaliser & at full time it finishes 1-1 enough to unfortunately send Posh through but both teams still have to endure a penalty shoot out , how f*cking pointless is that , just like this competition . Massive well done to Wycombe fans for boycotting , 567 at Adams Park & shame on the 84 Posh fans who turned up .
Well we lost, but still go through, unfortunately. At least Camara finally got on the pitch after arriving injured, will be good to see him get up to speed.
Whilst the world will be glued to France v Australia a few hundred souls will be watching Posh v Chelsea , strangely enough after being drawn away Posh are playing at home not sure why it's been changed as we played at Stamford Bridge in a 3-1 win a few years back & not sure if our on loan Chelsea GK Bergstrom will be able to play & or if Chelsea will have any stars in their starting X1 needing some competitive game time whilst WC is on .
