If he gets the Centre Back positions sorted, he'll mould the squad into a pressing machine.

Feel like there are far bigger problems than CB. Fofana, Colwill, Badiashile and Thiago will be fine, IMO.

We need someone who can win the ball in the centre of the park and someone who can stick the ball in the net ideally.

Enzo can play a lone 6 role but it limits his game too much. Put someone like Rice in that midfield alongside Kante (if fit) and let Enzo push forward.

DM, CF, GK are the priorities for me. In that order.

Don’t know much about Ugarte but he ticks the box for what we’re missing in midfield.

Would still like to see Rice or Caicedo join him but I think the chances of either of those deals being done is very small. Lavia more likely by the sounds of things.

I’m sure we’ll be linked with a ton of forwards in the next couple of months but Osimhen and Vlahovic seem to be the targets we’re most strongly linked with. Personally, I think both of those players have a fair few red flags but there’s not many alternatives out there either. “Chelsea should just sign a striker” is no where near as simple as people like to make it sound.

Shame. Think he'll want additions but also find a lot of players he'll be happy with straight away.

    Hope he does miserably.

Pochettino has supposedly made his first big decision and has decided he doesn’t want Felix to be part of the squad next season.

Felix definitely has the natural talent that we could possibly regret that decision one day but equally there are also plenty of red flags around him too. Especially for his price tag.

Personally, I think he needs to be played as a supporting striker in a 2 man front line to get the best from him. His technique and flair are at world class levels but he doesn’t appear creative enough to play the #10 role. There also seems a reluctance to press which feels like a non negotiable in todays game. I don’t think we saw the best way of Felix but he also didn’t show us enough out put to make any deal a no brainier.

80m (or 20-30m loan fee) just far too much. Nkunku coming in and Havertz likely not leaving further complicates it.

Really hope we don't unnecessary make any ridiculous ST signings with the market as bleak as it is.

Mitrovic looking ideal, with Broja as a backup.

Agreed. It’s obvious a world class striker would be great but there’s just not an obvious solution.

Improve the keeper and bring in some midfield ball winners/athleticism to free up Enzo in a more creative role and we’ll have a noticeable improvement. Especially with Nkunku and Gusto already improving the squad.

Selling the deadwood absolutely critical this summer.

Pulisic may be following RLC to Italy with Juventus interested. 20m being touted.

Pretty pleased with all the decisions made so far. Not sure what actual spending can be but a midfielder and legit scorer are desperately needed. Nkunku is a strange one seeing he’s not considered a 9 but was joint leading scorer in Germany despite missing a chunk of time.

Everyone says GK is a must but Kepa was arguably player of the year and I don’t see this team making as much of a jump by replacing the keeper position than a mid or striker

PSG offering Ugarte £200kpw whereas Chelsea are offering him only £80kpw (assuming its based on incentive structure of not being in European competition).

Player prefers Chelsea move but wages now an obstacle. Sporting prefers Chelsea offer over PSG as although the club's offer has more installments, they are willing to offer D.Fofana on loan + bonuses.

I really like Kovacic but I think this is a good move for everyone. He was one of the midfielders who let us down this year but if you can play to his strengths he’s an exceptional player, IMO.

We unveiled Ugarte as a signing a couple of days ago. The fact that we offered more than twice what you were offering doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

Agree with the supporting striker part but still feels like an underwhelming player. He's been at Atletico for 3,5 years and is yet to set the world on fire that his price tage suggested. A poor man's Griezmann if you ask me. The fact that Atletico actually loaned him in the January transfer window says a lot about how they value him. At that price, he should be playing better and should have helped Atletico to greater things.

Now a word about Maurice. I refuse to believe that he tried anything as a PSG manager. We had him as a player and as a coach he looks more than decent. Maybe Kane & Son made that Spurs side better than they actually are but he still got them to a CL final which is massive for that club. The fact that Maurice stayed at a hotel for so long after signing for PSG is also very telling. I'm convinced that his stint was over before it began as he knew he'd have his hands tied by Doha.
Now he's signed for Chelsea and he needs to prove that this rather tainted period in Paris was an exception and not the norm. I've had this conversation with many PSG fans and some take Maurice for overrated. I don't. I'm looking forward to what he's going to offer this season. Loads of players leaving and it sounds like he has a say in who leaves and who arrives (Chelsea have 800 players under contract so reckon few will arrive). The advantage is that he can hardly do worse than what Chelsea offered last season. It didn't strike me when the season ended but a club that size with so many means finishing 12th is nothing short of shocking. They'll be fight for the CL next season as usual and Maurice will need to show that Chelsea can at least challenge.

    We shall see.

I think Poch has burned his bridges with everyone….. Defeatist attitude…. Will never win anything. Poor tactics, poor team selections at the start of the season. Poor substitutions.

I feel bad for Pochettino, and honestly do not think that any manager given the circumstances could have done any better. The owners have bought ridiculous amounts of promising, young players, not given the manager / 'coach' any say in recruitment, failed to buy some experienced players and wasted huge amounts on the likes of Cucurella, etc.

The problem is reckless, naive owners, not the manager. Hopefully the club will be forced to keep him no matter what due to FFP rules.
