Think the Farense player was a little unlucky to be sent off as well. It's a penalty but it takes a deflection and I don't think he's done it deliberately to keep the ball out.

Good to see Pote back amongst the goals, he's not been in the best form recently but if he can start to click again Sporting are going to take some stopping.

Officiating is getting worse I swear. Wtf are they seeing from Diomande to even warrant a foul never mind a red card ?!?!

Either way great win good to keep the momentum going in the league. Diomande will be a miss. Hope Quaresma can sort himself out, he was thrown to the wolves a bit and had to come off to stop us going down to 9 men.

Gyokeres settling in very nicely now though

Apparently Sporting tried to sign Sarabia in the last few days of the window. He hasn't played much under O'Neil so wouldn't be surprised to see that deal happen in January.

Got away with one there with Boavista’s equalizer being called offside. And then up the other end for a sucker punch!

Geny Catamo is proving a bit of a gem. I wouldn’t be playing him in big games yet but he offers a great outlet going forward when trying to break down teams who are sitting back

Great start to the league from Sporting. Another title would be cool but moreover if they can stay a force and challenge the 2 mamooth clubs that would be great for Portuguese football in general. I see that Benfica lost all CL games so far and that Porto aren't swinging (albeit in a tougher group than it looks).

Will keep an eye on how this evolves. Could be interesting.

One of the best starts so far has been from Vitória, good to see them playing so well. Their game against Porto on 11/11 will be interesting.

Wow that was a tight one. Huge win after going 2-1 down.

My overriding feeling about this season is that our defence is going to end up costing us. Adan has really declined and we don’t seem 100% solid.

Saying that though, Edwards came up with the goods today after going off the boil a bit recently. Brilliant run and finish to bring us back level.

Amorim got his subs spot on, his ability to fire up the team and motivate them remains brilliant. It’ll be a sad day when he moves on

Got my hopes up when Porto were 1-0 down earlier! Can’t see us taking 3 points from the derby so things will be a bit tighter at the top after this weekend

Benfica pulling a Man Utd/Bayern 99 in the Lisbon derby. Just scored two goals in stoppage time to edge it 2-1.

Porto ultras beating up security guards, vandalising houses and stealing cars. Must be an election coming up...

Benfica ****ed up and we’re back at the top! Going to be a tight one this year. Gyokeres has been so important for us

    They've ****ed it again!!!

Braga win at Vizela and 2 huge games coming up tomorrow. A win away at Vitória would be a brilliant result for Sporting!

Huge huge opportunity! I can see us stumbling tomorrow though. While I’ve been impressed with us and our team spirit I feel like we don’t have the squad depth this season. St Juste going off in the last game was bloody typical he’s been an absolute crock ever since we signed him :fail:

If we do win though it would put us in a fantastic position! As long as Gyo is on the pitch, at the minute I would expect us to steal a goal from anywhere

Tbh at this point I wouldn't call dropping points away at Vitória a stumble, they're having a really good season.

Gyökeres has been amazing, a real bargain for what you paid for him. One of those strikers who just makes everything easier for whoever plays close to him. Raúl was similar for us before the head injury, you can't put a price on a striker like that.

In a usual season I would still consider it a stumble, purely because normally any 3 points dropped has a huge impact but it doesn’t necessarily seem to be the case this season you’re right.

He really has. Really unlike us to spend so much money on one player but he’s been completely worth every penny so far. In our early games he was really impressive with how he brought other players into the game but now he’s found his shooting boots he’s gone to another level. Seriously impressed with him so far and tbh I’m still surprised he joined us rather than being tempted by a move to a lower premier league side

I'm certainly annoyed Wolves didn't pull the trigger on him, especially considering one of the factors would've been that we still had that curly haired waste of space Fábio on our books.

He'd have been perfect alongside Cunha, Hwang & Neto.

    What a stupid game.

Porto go top if they win by 3 goals now
