I presume he will want to try and stay professional but sure there will allegations if things don’t go well.

With Germany out he’ll want to get the final and boost his CV potentially.

    Maybe he's even "pro-England" now?
Because when Germany had won the Last 16 match against England, he would be out of the tournament because Referees from any country of the remaining participants weren't allowed in the latter stages.

But I think there will be still "allegations" with every decision against England, eh?

"Of course, he's German, he's against us because we won...:blah:blah" ;)

Good point although it does seem Michael Oliver is doing the Swiss v Spain game .

We won’t be to rely on the officials if we play well enough .

The Turkish guy will probably get the final or if Spain don’t get there chap who did the Champions league final .

I think, it's from the semi-final on. So when England reaches the next round your referee will be out. Even if he would be the best referee of the tournament (don't know, is he?).
That's why no German referee was allowed to referee in the semi-finals in every World Cup or Euro from 2006 until 2016. Or it was because they were shit?

That's the right attitude. Good luck, England!

if anyone tries to blame the ref for us possibly going out tomorrow they need their head checked. It’s Ukraine.

It could perhaps even go the other way, with him not wanting to blot his copybook with any allegations of bias against England.

Tbh, I think most likely he's probably much more interested in his career and doing a good job than worrying about England's prospects in the Euros.

Rapallini, the Argentine ref has stood out for me. Now I don’t know if that’s down to the uniqueness of his appointment, his reffing ability or just the brilliantly theatrical way he gave the Swiss a penalty against France, but so far, he’d be my choice for the final.
If anybody is arsed about that sort of thing.

German referee or not we are getting through this one. It will be professional and quite boring like the group stage wins where we will be patient and wait for the right opportunity which will fuel the Southgate haters no doubt but to them even if we won 6-0 every game it would still be in spite of him as well.

    My prediction:

    Ukraine 0 England 1

Hopefully for Belgium's sake De Bruyne can play. Find it tough to see beyond an Italy win without him.

Michael Ballack that season had the most glorious 'failure' of a season in history, surely? He was absolutely brilliant for Leverkusen, but to end up runner up in the league by 1 point, lose the Pokal & Champions League finals, and then drove Germany on to a World Cup final which he was suspended for which they ended up as runners-up! Ridiculous!
