Im fed up with all this religious tit for tat and moving out of scotland myself it grates me more
My only concern is glasgow rangers a scottish team but stuck with the irish protestant connection.

If we took away the irish connection theres enough glasweigians like myself who love rangers
we cannot rid of the irish - and couldnt give a shite about the religious aspect .

Celtic -are based more than ever now -not a scottish team but the fighting irish

The clubs are both stuck in their ways and dont want to upset the problem fans on each side

I,m amazed by the authorities and they are to blame for they clearly have done
zilch in trying to tackle the problem .

The Clubs arent interested it doesnt afeect eitheir party until points are deducted
and that isnt going to happen .

You cannot equate what happens at a football match to what is the norm in Scottish society . Racism and sectarianism are not tolerated in Scottish society . You give to much credence to football in general and the OF in particulars influence on Scottish life .

As for the Justice Secretary coming out and congratulating the fans . I doubt he even saw the game and probably only reacted to the police arrest figure he was shown . He also has previous for saying and doing stupid things. So he would hardly be a good choice as a benchmark for what is prevalent in Scottish society .

That seems to be the case . They could have censored both clubs .Some Rangers fans however seem to be regressing and have recently become abhorrent even to their fellow fans . They have no interest in RFC and only turn up to spout their ridiculous hatred . They must be extracted A S A P and never allowed to set foot in any football ground ever again .

John Reid surely deserves to be higher than Tony . Tony only agrees with whatever others say .Lord John is an original bigot :whistle

It was in no particular order Misrable, but it would be interesting when we get a lengthy list, then we will try and put them in order. But I would safely say my list of 5 would easily be in the top 6 or 7.:laugh:

Please explain how 150 cops at a football match are supposed to arrest 30000 fans? There were more Rangers fans at Hampden than cops in the whole of Scotland. In fact, there were more than 3 times as many Rangers fans than there are cops in Strathclyde.

Could start with launching some tear gas into them, followed by a baton charge. Once you've got a few of them the rest will shite themselves and run. Then when a few of them are down, they can wade into some more.

I like the idea of water cannons waiting for them when they get out the stadium it would give them a much needed wash.

Nobody said 150 cops should arrest 30000 fans. A start would be lifting 100 of them and keep on doing it every time they spout their songs. I'm sure direct action would help the problem.

An interesting piece in today's Sunday Mail (sorry tried an failed to find a link for it) where Strathclyde Police claim to be making up a list of all banned songs that will be released to the clubs who will be asked to pass them onto fans .

The banned songs are said to include the Billy boys , the Famine songs and other tunes that glorify terror groups such as the I R A and U D A"
Senior Strathclyde Police sources say officers are ready to wade into stands and arrest offenders.

A source said "The police and clubs need to work together and there has to change in the attitudes of fans "
"thousand sing these songs but we cannot turn a blind eye any longer"

" These songs have to become as socially unacceptable as drink driving"

I'm sure everyone in here will welcome this approach by the police . And agree with me that those who persistently break the law should be banned from all football stadiums and required to attend their local police stations on match days. And those found to be of foreign nationality should be banned from the country.

Why on earth should they ban folk from other countries? That's just insane Miserable. People come from all over to see this game. Should passport control start asking people if they are going to an OF game, and if so put them on the next plane out?

If these people have a criminal conviction in this country for a sectarian related crime then how would you find it insane not to let them re-enter the country. Passport control would only have to do what they do just now . Put their details into a computer and if they come up as undesirables send them home .

How was it a sly dig . It was an open statement , clear as day . If someone comes to this country and commits a crime then they should not be allowed back in the country . I don't see how you can possibly have a problem with that .

And as Bundy has pointed out people come from far and wide to watch this game not just Ireland . So it's seems it's you who's obsessed with Ireland not me :rolleyes

Yes but it was Irish people you were getting at.Just f..king state it instead of trying to cover it up with "foreign".As i said before your obsession with everything Irish is pathetic. And as for your comments about sectarian related crimes, well if that were the case Ibrox would be f..king empty every week.

Oh dear have i offended you ? . I really can't see why your getting all upset .

I said foreign because i meant foreign as in not indigenous to my country . As for my comments about sectarian related crimes . My whole post was about sectarian related crimes and what Strathclyde police intend to do about them . :rolleyes

Are we not fully awake this morning R&P did we have a wee bit too much potcheen last night ?. You seem very highly strung this morning:therethere .
