I would have bitten the twats leg too...

Serious though, the dog was in YOUR HOUSE, and it was down to that twat to say to you could you please put your dog in another room, if I was in this situation I would get hold of a solicitor asp and sue the company and that twat.

So I've just had the company on the phone saying that they believe there was a bite because they've seen the bruising on his ANKLE this morning ...... ISYCMTSU - because he claimed it happened midway up his shin :angryfire:
Regardless they're sending someone else round today to assess what needs to be done and repair - not mr defensive and aggressive from yesterday - someone else :shrug
I've said that under no circumstances would that man ever be allowed back in my house.
They have however said that I don't need to worry about legal action which reassures me a little he's not going to try and have my dog killed

Sounds like they have had some legal advice about doing the latter and backed off, your dog was in YOUR HOUSE and they could have presumed you could say that he lashed out at your dog and the dog did the natural thing and bit him (pity he never bit him between the logs and then he would have ended up with a squeaky voice).

Saying all that once they have finished your work to your satisfaction I would tell them straight out that I would never use the company again and will tell others to avoid the company.

"That twat" has no idea of the temperament of the dog. If it barks at people like that then the owner should be taking precautionary measures, it shouldn't be on someone who doesn't know the dog at all to make that decision.

Him making up a scenario that didn't happen is obviously the actions of a bellend, but the dog being in your own home is no defense IF it had bitten someone. And it's not the victim's responsibility to ask for a dog to be removed from an area they're working in.

So true - I was standing next to him pulling the barking dog away and didn't see him bite - if I had I'd have admitted immediately :(
What bothers me more is he's shown his colleagues a bruise to his ankle rather than the mid / side of his shin that he was pointing to when he showed me where it *allegedly* happened yesterday so naturally I have to call bullshet on his claim

When this is done I will simply never use them again for anything simply for the quality of the work and the recommendations when people are asking for plumbers of course will stop immediately :(

Did my best to word it that I wasn't trying to place any blame on you, as it seems that nothing happened and the fella has fabricated a scenario in his own head. But I do think a lot of dog owners (myself included at times) just expect people to be ok with their dog being around them, and I think Red Tide's view of it being your house therefore he must be ok with it or ask for the dog to be put out is wrong. It's up to the owner of the dog to take those precautions imo.

Agreed - after this nobody's ever coming in the house again unless the dogs are shut in a room away from them or crated.
My nerves are absolutely shredded and the number of tears I've shed in the last 24 hours could probably be measured by the cup.
Never again will I ask someone if they're okay with the dogs being loose because it's just not a risk I feel I could take even though I'm convinced the pup is innocent. I can't seem to come down from over reacting now to every bark he makes :(

For work I go in loads of people's houses, and naturally some of them have dogs. Most people will ask at the front door if I'm okay with dogs, and some will ask me to hang on a minute while they put the dog in another room. I've never been bitten in over 30 years, nor really felt in fear of being bitten, and none of my colleagues have ever mentioned being bitten either.

Obviously some people will get bitten by excited animals during the course of their work, if that were to happen they'd probably be well advised to call into A & E for a Tetanus injection.

And if the dog had really bitten him then why would he not show you the bite at the time?
Sounds like he’s absolutely full of shit.

They have frozen our council tax here in Scotland for this year but guess what...they are putting the council rents up, in one hand and out with the other. :fail:

Just had my third round of acupuncture for my elbow. This after two rounds of physio which did not do anything other than shoot bolts of extreme pain up my arm. Six to eight weeks of this, if I'm lucky, and we;re getting near the eighth week. I wouldn't mind but I don't even play tennis...

The other names for tennis elbow are Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) and Wankers Cramp - perhaps this helps with the why this has happened without playing tennis :hmmm

Mom passed away on Monday evening. Funeral was yesterday.

She fought breast cancer since June 2021. Got diagnosed at a serious stage as our brilliant doctors were initially giving her injections for back pain treatment (40 of them, no exaggeration) before an oncologist realized what it really is.

Through hormonal therapies she regained her mobility and minimized the pain within a few months and was functioning almost like a healthy person for a couple of years. Even came to the finals of our local pub quiz one time and was the MvP in so far our only victory.

The extra medication she was supposed to receive to effectively attack and beat this illness one day however never came. The council repeatedly rejected her, despite her doctor's numerous pleas, claiming there are not enough funds to approve this or that there are higher priority patients.

Time passed and a stroke happened last month. Couldn't speak clearly, couldn't move without pain, right side partially paralyzed, couldn't breathe properly. Me and dad took care of her almost the whole time at home as nobody wanted to admit her to a hospital, claiming it is full or finding different ways to avoid helping her.

Last weekend she was finally admitted after one of the doctors during house visits said this is a case for hospital care and pulled all the necessary strings to make it happen. But as it turned out two days later, it was all too late.

She would have turned 70 in December. Her nieces and nephews were inconsolable, saying she was more like a mom than an aunt to them. As her only child, and due to my more formal relationship with dad and lifelong struggles to fit into my generation's society, to me she was a mom and also like an older sibling I never had, a best friend, even like a dad in certain cases... The only person I could turn to for help any time I wanted and to talk about anything without fear of judgement.

There are and will be many regrets, but not fulfilling all my potential during her lifetime and ensuring she witnesses a grandchild will always be my biggest one.

A part of me is trying to see the one positive that she is no longer suffering. Now it's us the living that are enduring the pain. There is a saying here that a healthy person has a thousand wishes while a sick person only has one wish. Though I wasn't sick myself, I have already forgotten what were the little problems I was moaning about in my head before mom's stroke happened.

Don't forget to every now and then commit more time to your older loved ones. We will always think we could have done more once the line is drawn one day, but still that shouldn't stop us from at least ensuring we create more memories to look back to one day.

    Ugh, Mama...
