You've quite clearly never seen him play then Paterson was a league 1 player at the time. Plus Tudgay is our best player and we can't afford to let go off him. The high price is too put you off. Which it seems to be doing quite nicely.
That was in the paper. No one has ever said he's worth £5 million. He's worth around £3 Million to us. But I think we'd let him go for £2.5 Million
Well if Steve Fletcher does sign that would mean him Martin Paterson Steve Thompson Robbie Blake who can play upfront And Jay Rodriguez Cant see the manager wanting more than that. Think the two starters would be Paterson and Fletcher and the others fighting it out.
Tudgay's agent Darryl Powell said the Owls striker would be willing to discuss a move to Turf Moor. 'Everything has not been agreed. If an opportunity arises, Marcus would like to speak to Burnley. That is nothing against Sheffield Wednesday - which is a fantastic football club - but when a Premier League club shows interest, you want to take a look.' Coyle also said: “I’m not going to get involved in what somebody said or didn’t say. The bottom line is I think we made a very fair offer in the market place and it was turned down. Our chairman made a verbal offer to the Sheffield Wednesday chairman for Marcus Tudgay last year for £1.5m. He’s a terrific player and I understand they don’t want to lose him. With a year left on his contract we thought we made a very fair offer, and my chairman said to me that offer’s still there if Sheffield Wednesday were ever to take us up on it. There’s no doubt he’s a terrific player who’d be a tremendous acquisition to what we’re doing.”
for those who think i have not seen him play then your wrong my opinion might be a tad harsh but i just dont see him as a premiership player thats all
Burnley have done nothing wrong though, we've not spoken to the player or anything. Our chairman contacted Sheff Wed about him and thats about as far as it got. Our manager never said a word about the player until Brian Laws as he always seems to do went bitching to the press and anybody else who'd listen.
Sheffield Wednesday striker Marcus Tudgay still looks keen on a move to Burnley and still doesn't yet appear to have signed a new Owls three-year contract 'Marcus has 12 months to go on his contract,' Tudgay's representative Darryl Powell told the Lancashire Telegraph. 'He is aware of Burnley's interest because it came out publicly. He would love the opportunity to meet with the manager and talk.' Burnley though have not improved their original offer of about £1.75million, including add-ons, and look unlikely to do so with Owls gaffer, Brian Laws rating the former Derby player at £4 million and wanting to keep hold of his star striker: "We said right from the start that we were not interested in selling Marcus," Laws said. "You can understand the lad wants to play in the Premier League, but we`re not a selling club and he`s one of our best players. The best player in the world has his price - you only have to look at the £80m paid for Ronaldo - but Burnley were nowhere near the figure we would have considered for Tudgay." http://www.burnley.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=160581
