Same team as Albania announced tonight. Guys like Armstrong sitting on the bench with Kevin McDonald (who was poor even against Albania) starting also O'Donnell in before Forrest.
A good score line at halftime but we're under the cosh against a poor Israeli side. STV reporter at the game. . Paul Barnes@STVPaul Scotland have been poor so far. Seems to be confusion about system / formation / tactics. McGinn Robertson Tierney McDonald have all been summoned to the touchline during breaks in play for a quick McLeish briefing. 0-1 after 35m. Paul Barnes@STVPaul 15m15 minutes ago Sorry to Labour the point but something doesn’t seem right with Scotland. Johnny Russell now hauled over to the technical area for instructions.
Was harsh, terrible performance though, all over the place. Embarrassing against a team of this calibre.
Disgraceful to get sent off for that, mind you that ref has clearly been bought. No excuse though, typical drudgery from us.
Combination of bad luck and a poor swing at it from Tierney there but we can have no excuse here, being pummelled by a very poor team.
Wrong players, wrong tactics, wrong manager. Say no more. . Inside The SPFL@AgentScotland 1m1 minute ago Scotland = Pathetic Team selection? guff Formation? guff Game plan? guff Style of play? guff A boring manager devoid of ideas with a boring team devoid of ideas
McLeish's appointment and subsequent decisions sum the SFA up. Is it any wonder why so many are so disillusioned? Scotland's national team is a farce.
It was a total embarrassment m8. Said it before and i'll say it again, Gordon Strachan was going the right way and we have a decent group of players. They ripped that up which was 50/50 if they should have. They then put a footballing dinosaur in with McLeish and this is now where we are. Strachans team would have walked this Nations League group.
Gary Mckay Stevens, Michael Devlin and Ryan Christie called upto the Scotland squad in place of Soutter, Tierney and Mulgrew. Gordan Strachan did have a tendancy to over look form players in our own league in favour of players from down south, Mcleish seems to be doing the complete opposite and going down the Berti Vogts route of giving just about anyone in Scotland a cap. We have Liam Lyndsey and Liam Cooper down on the English Championship who are far better than Devlin. Also Barry Douglas can play the LW role he must be Injured as he would be a far beter option than GMS. Someone pointed out to me as I never seen the game only highlights that players were constantly going over to the touchline to get instructions, far more than you would usually see, it seems to me that the players don't understand what Mcleish wants to do.
McTominay the latest to pull out before the Portugal game. Something not quite right in the camp I think.
Strachan's last seven games compared to McLeish's first seven. Now this isn't a campaign to bring Strachan back but to highlight the utter stupidity of replacing a guy who was starting to produce results with an incompetent. Strachan McLeish
It was time for Strachan to go but it wasn't time to go back to a guy who walked out in the job before and was struggling to get a job back in the game. He has taken us backwards in the short term he has been here and will continue to do so. His latest interview shows he is losing the plot, comparing Portugal to Brazil in football terms because they speak the same language.
It may have been time for him to go due to him having two cracks at qualifying but he was starting to produce and i'm almost certain he'd have taken a team to Israel last week that would have won that game. If you're going to change things you do it for the better and from the off everyone knew it was step back. Also in saying that even McLeish should still take us out this mini league considering who we're up against. Steve Clarke was sitting in Kilmarnock and wasn't even approached.
This is awful, once Portugal reserves got upto speed with the game they have walked it. Awful defending for the first goal, O’Donnell doesn't get close enough for the cross and Andy Robertson let's his man waltz infront of him. 3-0 now and another disjointed performance, in what world did Mcleish think McBurnie and Naismith could work as a two with McGregor as a winger.
