It's time for action. Enough is enough! Right from the attack on our Parliament to this deadly attack on Mumbai there have been Pakistani links. For how long do you expect us to bear them and their fake condolences? We've always tried to better relations with them inspite all odds, but they always back stab us. This time too they've done this. How long do we see our people die for no damn fault of theirs? The world knows Pakistan shelters terrorists. Even underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is sheltered in Karachi and India had even submitted the proof of that to Pakistan but they have refused to act. Why are we so soft on terror? If we were Israel we would have slammed them hard and rightly so. I know their President Zardari lost his wife due to terrorism. But it's only because of his nation's inability to keep in check the growing number of terrorist camps in his territory and the support of ISI to these inhuman twats.

It's time the world isolates Pakistan until it does something concrete to drive away this menace. They can't do it themselves and when the US asks them to help they deny saying it would be against their sovereignty. Every nation which shelters terrorism in any form, no matter if it's Bangladesh, Pakistan or any other nation, should be brought to task.

I admit, intelligence failure on our side too was responsible for this tragedy. But that doesn't justify what Pakistan has done.

If the terrorists have such support in the ISI as you imply then without support from western nations and their allies the moderate regime(s) would fall and the terrorists would conquer. How do you feel about these morons having their finger on the nuclear trigger?

Thats the reason why the US has started attacking camps in Pakistan to which Pakistan has objected. It's highly unlikely that those twats would manage to get hold of nuclear installations, but after what I saw in Mumbai, these guys could reach anywhere!

If the moderates in Pakistan were, as you put earlier, left in total isolation there's a very good chance that the Government would be overthrown by radical elements. Those radical elements would assume control of the country and thus the nuclear weapons.

    Thats the thing now

    Finding middle ground...

Heres how I see it Pakistan has failed miserably to curtail extremists elements in its country to such a large extent that there is real doubt about who is calling the shots

There is no doubt that we need to be gentle with our allies in the Govt and at the same time arm twist them into giving us the leads we need..

I mean this really is worst case scenario...one doesn't know the good from the bad and the Indian subcontinent could really become the flash point for another major war

I also really think the Govt needs to pull up its act regarding national security and vote bank politics :angryfire For all the criticism Bush got..there was no doubt that he was the man in charge...no such clarity in our system

Its easy to point the finger at Pakistan and have the worlds sympathy on your...but I dont give a shit about that if I have to think twice before traveling by the local trains ....

BTW does England have one party in power ? :hmmm

Sorry to hear that mate. R.I.P

As someone that has been in London on 7/7 I can understand what those in Mumbai are going through. Stay strong. The terrorists deserve being executed but no form of execution is good enough for them. Let them starve in a perspex cage with food and drink just out of it but they can't get it.

I've been following this on both the Beeb and LCI.....

Tragic truely tragic......But I feel that Indian forces were maybe slow to react to the impending and events that have now passed......I understand it is a sensitive area in asia and maybe that is why the attacks were targeted there as the secret services and the proximity is close......

France at the moment is on alert rouge probably the same as in the UK.......Terror strikes happen in random places as seen in years past with the IRA and also after declaring a ceasefire the Spanish Basque group have once again with militants fighting for their cause......Corsica is often hit aswell......

I suggest a rapid response of special forces unit be formed
and based in several places around the globe to intervene at the slightest attacks...I mean within an easy distance of reaching such a situation in the quickest time possible....Namely one all the continets....

These faceless cowardly bastards who have been brainwashed into their actions need to see the red laser target shot aimed at the head.......Take no shit, no disable shots to the legs, they plan to kill so should our special forces......placing down the arm and hands up....bolloxs to that.....

Mumbai has suffered an attack just as New York, London, Madrid, Paris, Indonesia to name a few major targets....

I would have no hesitation in putting a bullet in the head even if the person was on his knees, cuffed and his firearm not in reach......

Apparently, media sources say the Government is determined to act tough this time. The cease fire with Pakistan could be called off and there is a possibility of multiplying army deployments on the border. There are reports that Pakistan could also do that first.

Thats least possible mate. If Pakistan truely wants, it can drive away terrorists, but it's beacause of the lack of will and ISI support that the terrorists have found heaven in Pakistan. Now, by isolation I meant economic isolation. Freezing of trade, financial assistance and supply of defence equipment and so on. But at the same time super powers like the US, France and others should put constant diplomatic pressure on Pakistan. Pakistan doesn't allow foreign elements to assist them in terror operations even now, so the threat of terrorists having access to nuclear instalments exists even now.

India cancelling next years cricket tests in Pakistan is the first clue to who they thinks to blame, and who can blame them

I cant see anything but tension and growing animosity in the coming months with lots of posturing and threats , but not so idle this time which will be worrying

I don't know what else you could mean by isolation? And, in those circumstances, the possibility of an Islamic revolution is high, of that I have no doubt.

Some of the 7/7 bombers were born in L666s and probably had Yorkshire accents so therefore unfortunately they are British.
If they do not like what we do in this country or our way of life I suggest they f off to a country that they feel more comfortable with.

What are the main reasons for this attack on Mumbai ?
Was it Al Quaeda inspired in the way they seeked out UK and USA citizens, but it seems they killed mostly Indian people.
Or is it to do with the Pakistan / India conflict
Or both of the above ?

Mumbai is the financial capital of India ..The Stock Exchange is here and so are all the big companies ...It is in more ways than one a lot like New York

The targets attacked ....upmarket cafes and 5 star hotels and the appartment housing Israelis suggest that the terrorists were after foreign nationals...the fact that they segragated the ones with foreign passports will confirm this
While it is true that the majority of those dead were Indians...more foreign nationals died in this attack than any other

We can speculate all we want about what the motives of these madmen is but frankly couldnt give a shit..understanding their motivation helps us in no way...they are called radicalists for a reason ...

Pakistan is a political cess pit, always has been. The problem is though you have to try to fight the terrorists who lurk there without crippling the whole country. If you do cripple the country, it stands a good chance of being the first nuclear power to fall fully into the hands on Islamic extremists, which is a scary thought.

OK, this report is a couple of days old, but I thought only one 'terrorist' was caught and arrested?

How is it possible that only one 'terrorist' was allegedly arrested, but three have confessed they are members of a Pakistan based group?

    :hmmm

Well no one is taking the Govts word for anything right now ..

Out of the 10 that attacked south bombay only one survived ...the other 2 were arrested in north bombay and may have been responsible for the blast in ville parle

Yes but the numbers are still sketchy..but what is confirmed is

So far 10 terrorists have been accounted for so far:
1 killed, 1 captured in Girgaum Chowpaty on the 26th night
2 were killed in Oberoi-Trident on the afternoon of the 28th
2 were killed in Nariman House in Colaba on the 28th evening
4 were killed in the Taj Mahal hotel encounter on Saturday morning
