Obviously recent results have helped, but I really like the atmosphere generated at the ground, and have always found you guys pretty friendly in and around the ground

Congratulations Reading on a deserved win. Your play in the first half was how i'd hoped we would play this season. You were fast, your passing was quick and incisive, and you generally made us look third-rate in every area of the pitch.

Thought we were better second half, but tbh didn't really look like scoring again.

Carlton Palmer said that he thought that you were too predictable and that you just don't have any variety in your attack. Is that a fair comment?

Hi Rich, how you doing, haven't had a chat for quite a while :thumb TBH I think first half was by far the best we have played this season and we really should have scored more than we did. But then credit to Warnock he made a couple of decent changes and second half we were a little backs against the wall. I think overall we deserved the 3 points, just hope you guys show the same desire as you did 2nd half  If you do it won't be to long before you start notching up the points :thumb

WR - spot on mate. We seem to have reverted to long ball crap again, and against teams with CBs as big as yours that's gonna get us sod all.

LR - I'm good ta, hope you're ok. You're right, you could have been 3 or 4 up by HT with no complaint. We were utterly woeful in the first half, and I really was relieved to get in only 2 down.

The second half improvement shows why we need to change our options from the start. IMHO Gillespie looks far better than ifill in this division. He sticks to his job, goes outside people and puts in consistently good crosses that cause any defence problems. He doesn't try to be overly clever like ifill, and he added some much needed width to our side in the second half.

The other substitution was, for once from warnock, a bit of a masterstroke. Bringing on Quinn gave us an added edge of skill and creativity in midfield, and also more pace at the back, once armstrong replaced Unsworth, who, despite the fact that I like him as a player, seems to have lost too much pace to cut it at this level. Quinny was excellent. Sure he lost the ball a few times, but after our first half display, it was good to see someone running at your defence and looking for an intelligent pass.

Overall yes you deserved the win, based on your utter outclassing of us in the first half, and stalwart defending in the second. Good luck this season, and hopefully us and Watford can follow suit and all stay up.

Incidentally, has Kevin Doyle got a brother? Preferably roughly the same in terms of footballing ability, and going for about the same price...?

C'mon Jags keep the faith, you showed enough against Liverpool and 2nd half yesterday, to stay up. If you can show a bit more consistency of performance then you will be okay :thumb

dont panic , Mr Mainwaring, pompey had 11points last xmas , things change , and as yet weve not had davis in the team allowing us to go forward more . We started on saturday without our first choice goalie , kenny , centre half davis and our centre forward webber , the spine was out . and we are still within 1 win of liverpool , whose fans still think they can win the prem , so stop being so down , might even lose the next one at arsenal more than likely , but theres still 99 points to play for

We lost that game due to a stupid team selection. Jagielka is not a midfielder, he's looked class at the back the last 2 games, and then on Saturday he moves back into midfield, and was shite to say the least.

I said before the game that with Tonge injured, Quinn had to come into midfield, but instead of a like for like swap, 2 changes were made, and a complete change of tactics. We had 7 defensive outfield players on the park on Saturday, against a team who we should be looking to beat if we are going to have any chance of staying up.

Warnock came on the radio at the end of the game and said his changes changed the game, if he'd have gone for Quinn in midfield at the start, we might just have been like that all game. I cannot understand why Warnock doesn't just put his hands up and say he dropped a bollock with his team selection.

In the first half we should have been at least 4-0 down, and never looked like we were going to score. In the second half the changes were made and we looked alot better, but the game was already over.

Hulse played well yet again, cannot complain about him one bit, and the goal he was scored was brilliant, how he scored from that angle I'll never know.

Akinbiyi puts in 110% every game, he just doesn't have the ability to go with it unfortunately. We need Kabba, Webber, or maybe even Nade in the team IMO to have a decent strike partnership. I'm not too sure about Kazim-Richards if I'm honest, even though he looked decent when he came on against Blackburn.

The defence was piss poor in the first half, Sommeil probably the only one who can say he played ok. The midfield in the first half was a joke, I don't think we won a tackle at all.

The next league game is definitely not going to be a win, I don't mind that because this is one of the games I've written off before the season started. But it's vital we win our next home game against Middlesborough, because we have to ensure we don't fall adrift from the rest of the league, one win yesterday took Blackburn to mid-table, and I think if we lose against Arsenal and beat Middlesborough, we will move up to around 15th, but that's just hoping other results go our way.

I have seen pretty much all your games this season thanks to Sky Sports and football first. I have to say it doesnt look like you will be staying up this season unfortunately. It would be nice but based on performances so far its looking bleak. As for ourselves how we are still on two points is a joke. But i am looking forward to our regulation 3 points at the Lane this season!!

I've got nothing against the Blades, but ive seen all of Watfords games and have seen a lot of yours too. I'm not saying it wont be bleak for us but i feel in the games we have played so far we seem more than capable of turning a few teams over (ask West Ham, Bolton) but unfortunately havent through bad luck and bad finishing. This may continue for the whole season but then again we could easily end up clicking and finishing a lot higher up the table. From what ive seen of you lot i cant say the same. Good luck nonetheless and i hope you do well (not at our expense mind you) .
