I don't see how Andy can recruit anyone based on the games flavour, I think its more likely that there was an additional third party at the start of the game.
If it is a recruit then RD is obviously not the recruit.

 

Also if it is a recruit then the best that they can hope for is a draw right?

 

Combined with that, it would be pretty game breaking to allow Andy to recruit with a role like mine in the game, just on the chance he did recruit me he would then seemingly have had no way of being killed.
