Let's see how long I can keep up a game-by-game match thread trend for... The league returns! Stage 3 begins at home with a game against the Jam Tarts. Both teams expect promotion this season and with a decent pre-season behind us and a win against Hibs under our belt I'd like to think we could take all 3 points off Hearts but that would be short-sighted of me as Hearts could very easily bulldoze us. I expect a red card somewhere and a draw of somewhere in the region of 2-2. Ibrox is a sell-out (so much for that protest against the board eh) so the atmosphere will be buzzing! Game on!
Hearts have been training in a ten against eleven scenario this week. That shows you where everyone expects to see the red card that was mentioned. If they get a fair crack at the whip I think the game is fifty/fifty.
I think it will come down to whos defence is on top, a think it will be a scoring draw with some hefty challenges going in. Going to put a bet on for both teams to get a player sent off.
McCulloch can't start in defence, has to be McGregor and Zaliukas. Two big strong solid guys, Mohsni's banned (huzzah! kinda) and they have enough experience to hush the Hearts kids or so I'd hope. It's McCoist, his tactics aren't nearly as sublime as the man he replaced.
Currently 1-0 Hearts. Fancy Sevco to get back into it Will we see the penalty, the sending off or the game changing decision though?
Only seen the second half and switching between the Ajax game but Rangers look void of any creativity, they might need a penalty or at least a set piece to score.
Nothing to do with the ref but Alexander the Hearts keeper is off and a young rookie replaces him. . .could be a big moment.
Jesus christ man we were the dominant team for most of the first half and how we have no imagination, no creativity, nothing
Don't know where Hearts got the boy Carrick from but he looks awful. The only thing he seems to do is punt the ball up or out of the park even when under little pressure.
I didn't think you were up to much in the first half either to be honest. Without being that good themselves Hearts have been very comfortable in this second half and I would take Danny Wilson for Celtic any day. I think he is a right good defender.
Kenny Miller looks like he is struggling, could be a passenger for rangers this season, they need someone with a bit of pace to play off Boyd.
He has always looked good, probably mature above his age in that position. Would take a punt on him anyway.
Every defender has bad days but I think he has more good than bad and wouldn't cost millions. What a finish to this game.
