As I'm getting abit bored waiting for Gareth to move over the other thread into here :laugh:, I thought I'd make a new one as it's going to be a busy old summer Trentside!

Today's speculation is Jimmy Garner does indeed look likely to sign on for another year loan for us and Coops is being offered a new deal, hopefully one for life or at least something similar to Pardew's 8 year one at Newcastle!

Forest to offer Cooper new deal

    I’d love us to sign:

    Spence
    Davis
    Zinck
    Garner (loan I’d assume)
    Gibbs-White
    Scott Twine
    Sorba Thomas
    Lewis-Potter

Converting most or even all of the loans will be very important to keep the incredible harmony we have in the squad I believe. Agree with others on the list, would love Joel Piroe from Swansea who was Coops' last signing there and I think there's a fair chance of us getting Jed Wallace on a free which I'd be happy with.

Nice list that. Twine looks amazing but could be too much of a gamble maybe, stepping up 2 leagues to the prem?

Think it’s maybe more important to prepare to be the strongest team in the champ if we go down, and see how far that and Cooper’s coaching takes us - I’d rather that than the Huddersfield/QPR approach of spaffing the money up the wall & having nothing to show for it.

Don’t want to go full Norwich though obviously.

Also missed center-half Connor Goldson signing on a free from Rangers is being heavily touted

Another center-back Joe Rodon being heavily linked today by a ITK Tottenham journalist

Hopefully we will be looking to snap some of them up as our squad really needs some beefing up

From what I've seen, some decent players available but I feel wages will be an issue.

If you make all the loans permanent, would you have much left over to add to the squad?

As long as we pay a fair price then yes I'd say

I ask because, even if they all resign, you are paying all that to stand still, and you always want to bring in one or two new faces just to keep players on their toes.

    I'd sign;

    Spence 15m+
    Garner loan
possibly Davis, depending on price. Wouldn't go too high, maybe 10m+.

Then i'd leave out Zinckernagel and Lowe. We need better than them.

So you're looking at possibly around 25m for 2 of those loans to be made permanent depending on how rinsed we get now we have the money. I think that would be a sound investment as if we went down they are proven Championship quality. But could very well do good in the Prem.

The only issue with Garner is that with Pogba confirming he is gone, we only have McFred left for 2 CM spots, so unless we bring at least 2 midfielders in, I can us not laoning him out this year.

And not to rain further on your parade, but reportedly De Jong is the only midfielder we are looking at (Nunez and a defender are the other deals we are going for), so even if we sign him, it's unlikely we will bring in another. If we don't get him, Garner definitely isn't going out on loan.

Hopefully some smart Business is done even if it does include Loan deals.

I think for Piroe, we'd be looking at the very least £15 million. Really, given his ability and age, we should be looking for more but not sure we're in that much of a position of strength to hold out for big money.

Don't think Cooper had too much to do with the Piroe signing, it was at the time he was interviewing for a different job every week and he never commented on the signing.

Joe Rodon is someone that did get on well with Cooper though, I can see him being in for him and h would be an excellent signing. Needs to start playing regularly at club level, but Wales best centre back by a country mile.
