If Klopp doesn't suffer fools then Moreno will be nowhere near the starting lineup this season. He's an absolute disgrace and fraudster and just seeing him in the starting lineup before games gives me the instant sweats. If we don't bring anyone in to replace him then start Gomez or Flanagan there or even a center back. Anyone but him. As for the center back predicament i don't see why we can't go with all three and play the three at the back. Especially against teams that park the bus and get everyone behind the ball. It'll free up another position in midfield or attack to break those sort of teams down while still being decent at the back.
Few rumours going round that Klopp will make Lovren captain next season.. Mario wants to knuckle down and win the Balon D'or aswell.....ok believe that when I see it.
Balotelli can **** off tbh. Shit player with a shit attitude. Don't want that cancer anywhere near the squad this season.
This. If we get a offer that is nowhere near the amount we want, take it, I don't care. I'd rather him out of the club freeing up a good chunk of wages and give it to someone who will offer more to the team than he does.
The most annoying thing about Balotelli is the section of our fans who seem to think he will come good, just not happening delusion of the highest order. I do like him though always a laugh.
Whereas a number of people were hoping you'd written "Markovic to be shot in pre season......." I am hoping above all hopes that we sign a striker, someone like Torres or Suarez ideally as our options even just including Sturridge, Origi, Ings and either Firmino or Benteke/Balotelli look a bit thin if Sturridge gets injured and Origi and Ings have not had sustained runs of goalscoring (did well in spells, one was injured most of the season the other might continue form, but it's not a given)
I hope so, although Benteke scored quite a few off the bench which is not to be sniffed at as an asset. I was saying to the resident mackem about our scoring options and is there one of our current strikers both guaranteed to return regular goals AND stay fit...........? Not that there is any guarantee, but what I mean is a proven goalscorer who didn't spend large chunks of last season injured and has scored regular goals and not just in relatively short spells? Whilst our defence has been poor for quite a few seasons now, and much of the blame seems to be aimed at the keeper, we have been lacking in goals at times. And when we've scored plenty of goals (101 and 77 in 13/14 and 08/09 respectively) where did we finish...............? Granted we conceded a mere 27 in 08/09 but conceding over 50 didn't stop us finishing runners-up in 13/14. Need something behind it as well, hopefully Coutinho and Firmino will help us create for a new striker and a well organised defence will make for a top four challenge
I know there's alot of talk of him being merely a backup player but I wouldn't be surprised if Ragnar breaks into the 1st team. He looks like a modern CB who can bring the ball out of defence (owing to the fact he used to be a midfield playmaker & then a left back). But he's also very good at the fundamental stuff like blocks & clearances according to his Bundesliga stats. I wouldn't mind seeing how a partnership of him & Matip would do. Mainly because he has a reputation for being reliable, I mean imagine having a reliable CB lads.
Coutinho, Firmino, Mane in attacking midfield. I wouldn't rule out Wijnaldum playing deeper though, he's played CM before.
Honestly, I think we'll see Firmino up front a lot this season. I think we could look something like this against Arsenal: Karius Clyne Lovren Matip Moreno Can Milner Mane Lallana/Wijnaldum Coutinho Firmino Could be way off mind but I think Klopp wants the front 4 to be interchangeable. Lots of options in attack now anyway.
No you're right, he definitely does. His comments before Villarreal last season really made that clear, and we've certainly got the squad to do so. Sturridge even, I've seen a couple of signs of him being moulded a bit into being more of a link man. Ings & Origi are two really multi-functional forwards who Klopp obviously loves. Even most of the young lads who he seems to have involved quite a bit, Ojo, Ejaria & Trent A-A, are all versatile and very tactically flexible (Sterling would've thrived under him imo). Mané adds that turn of pace as well we badly lacked. I do see Wijnaldum being used deeper against certain opponents & even changing to use a 3 in the middle. It's why Benteke is so blatantly out of place, he offers zero flexibility. Ibe was similar really, very much a one role type of player. We've got a very exciting array of attacking talent, less than a year after us being unable to hit a cows arse with a banjo! This year though, there are clear indications of how we'll aim to set up in terms of style. Very different situation from the previous scattergun approach that saw the likes of Manquillo, Lambert, Benteke & Balotelli in with the likes of Markovic, Origi, Firmino & Ings. Also notable how he's setting the midfield personnel up in terms of physicality & athleticism - Can, Grujic, Henderson, Milner & even Wijnaldum all have a presence (check out just how surprisingly good Wijnaldum is in the air for example), and the likes of Allen, Teixeira & Lucas even who are lacking those aspects are all on the way out. Zielinski apparently had his athleticism as his stand out feature. CBs too, aggressive front foot defenders who are at the very least comfortable on the ball. Karius isn't a major wimp like that wet lettuce.
Moreno can't possibly be our left back going into the new season. I'll be stunned if Klopp does not sign a left back before the transfer window shuts.
