Manchester United skint? The transfer war chest for the most profitable team ever has already halved.

Some people just have too much time on their hands

2 hours of apparent De Gea mistakes, had a very brief look and even the few I saw some were very harsh.

Like you I'm not going to sit through all that, so I watched the first few minutes. I know what you mean about them being harsh but so many are a result of his refusal to come off his line and/or his refusal to use his hands, two characteristics of his game that make me sick.

Yeah he certainly is horrendous coming for crosses, etc. Always seems a Shay Given type goalie for me, great shot stopping, not much else. The modern day game especially goalies need a bit of everything.

United never seemed interested in making him even feel like his place was under pressure all these years - despite fluctuations in his form.

High wage, no real challenger, history with the club... of course his form dropped. He had all he wanted and United seem to love their players feeling over-comfortable.

romero was our cup keeper under lvg and our europa league keeper under mourinho. henderson looked set to be ole's number one, but covid sort of ruined that and his interview might have been the final nail, at least for a fair few supporters. i don't know why we paid de gea those wages, though. mad stuff

I never got the impression any of those keepers were a serious threat to De Gea - who due to the wages he commanded, meant you couldn't really afford to keep him around and not play him. + in the influence you assume he has in the dressing room.

Jones stuck around like a bad smell, and now you'll probably struggle to offload Maguire until his deal expires. Wild decision making.

As someone who has never rated de Gea, even when he was supposedly good, the 2018 contract was an eyewatering mistake by United. At that time he was touted as one of the best in the World, but then of course he went to the 2018 World Cup in goal for Spain and was an absolute disaster.

henderson probably the biggest threat to de gea, but that isn't saying much. i'd prefer us to give kovar a chance--at least throughout the preseason tour--to see what he can do. he's 23 now, commands his area well, can make saves, decent with the ball at his feet, and was stellar for sparta prague last season.

Nah he was ****ing shit from his first season when he let in about a million goals from range. He had a few seasons where his baggage was acceptable due to his godlike shots topping however he definitely had more bad seasons than good ones.

Thanks for the memories from all City. Liverpool. Sevilla, Barca and many more football fans he helped over the years. The game moved on, Dodgy Dave didn't.
