I reckon we'd beat Norwich if it came to it. The game's already a sell out and we've won every game this season where there hasn't been a seat to be had in the ground..
Tomorrow is going to be one to remember whichever way it goes, the last time we played Huddersfield as our final away day needing a win was one of my top three away days of all time, somehow doubt tomorrow will be quite as enjoyable. Pub meet set at 7am, be in Yorkshire by 10:30, I don’t know why I let the club do it to me, I genuinely won’t mind playing in league one next year, that said I still won’t sleep a wink tonight!!!!
Anyone else thinking their team may drop on Goal Difference? Starting to worry about that! Ourselves and Birmingham both on -16, as are QPR and Stoke who really should be ok but mathematically not quite. We really need anything but a Birmingham win on a personal level. Reality is we need to go and get 3pts ourselves to sort our own destiny out, if we drop it'll be the 2nd half of season collapse and failure to pick up points against teams down the bottom.
Nice win double in the bag & some nice add on cash for Posh if Ipswich get promoted re Jack Taylor sale with Leeds hitting the skids .
That's Stoke safe with a great win to confirm it. Not mathematically official but Huddersfield are down. Birmingham v Norwich and Plymouth v ourselves could end up with implications on both ends of the table if we beat Ipswich.
Ridiculous how many times over the last decade or so we’ve had something to play for on the final day
Possibly if Hull have a chance of playoffs but I also think Brum could win their last game and us lose and then they'd be above us on GD (we have the same at the mo). Obviously Plymouth would have to win too in that scenario. I'll be so annoyed at dropping on GD again (2017 with 51pts) and after missing 6th spot last year on GD too! Massive kudos to Sheff Weds and QPR for their exploits, amazing jobs. Even Stoke who is the ONLY team we have done the double over! Defo need a Hull win later! Thanks Milwall for that result today and a massive relief that Huddersfield and Birmingham drew.
Really fear for Argyle based on the performance today. Players looked pissed off but not in the good way. Whittaker tried to lift the team but basically gave up because no one was trying to match his attacking intent
I didn’t have much hope for today to be fair, we’ve been poor away from home pretty much all season and winning at a sold out Den just didn’t feel particularly Argyle-y. Hopefully we’ve got something left to give next weekend. The contrast of the team who got shot of their inexperienced manager with enough time of the season left versus the team who left it too late was also there today. No surprises you’re safe and we’re not.
Think you could be in trouble next season or is it just a case of the players on the beach, too many managerial changes and you're just waiting for the summer to start again? Because that's a terrible record. Hope you can do it on the final day. You're better at home so you never know. Having to play Hull who still have something to play for isn't ideal though. Don't particularly want any of the strugglers to go down to be honest. Too much shared experience from this season and got reasons for wanting to see all of them in this division next season.
I think so too, I felt they were in a false position when we played them, and now they finally getting better results.
I would like to think so to. We have around 13 players (most bit part) who are out of contract. Of the ones I want to sign, are Dunne (good back up), Armstrong. Field has already signed. Id like to keep Willock but I think he'll be off. Not the player he was but still decent. Then we can release Begovic, Kakay, Dixon Bonner, Archer, Drewe and a few others who barely played. Hoping we can keep Hayden, as he's been brilliant for us. Few rumours around Chair (though I think the court case will mean he stays), Jack Clark Salter. I would like to keep both but we will always sell for a good price. Hopefully, Eze goes for a lot of money as we are due 20% from any sale. Cifuentes signings so far have been very good (Hayden, Anderson, Frey) Hodge also signed on loan and did okay. I am confident for next year, but we are skint so it will be interesting to see who we can keep and who we can bring in.
