Does the Huddersfield owner have much cash to splash? they've only signed Chris Maxwell (2nd choice at best) and loaned a right back from Stoke haven't they? Hard to see a Warnock team getting relegated but it's a weak looking squad.
Isn't Jordan Rhodes off to Derby to be replaced by Billy Sharp ? There's a good swap , IF it were to happen .
Sharp was looking very past it when I saw him last season but maybe a decent last 15 minute option. 37 now.
He knows where the onion bag is still and is very fit for his age. He'd still do a job for a club like Hudders imo
Yeah I'd say so though Phillips peak was around the Sunderland days and thereafter was a very slow decline where as Sharp has probably has got better with age up until a couple of years ago imo
He was still banging 'em in for Blues at the age of 53, just as long as he didn't come on until the 88th minute..
In short yes, but everything seems to be pointing in that Warnock will steady the ship as the new owner/board, back room staff etc get their feet under the table. That’s how it feels….I don’t know how FFP works etc but you have to tell the EFL how much you can spend etc? I don’t know but sounds like we put our finances in before the takeover so can’t spend overly this season. I honestly have no idea how it works tbh, but we are debt free and he’s pretty loaded and seems like he really wants to take us back to the Prem. But after a season of transformation. Warnock will be on big bucks, no doubt about that.
Considering we're expecting solid mid table with a hope of a top half finish, that would mean something went wrong somewhere for us
Got it right for one of the teams. As we still have room for a lot of improvement and another 3-4 players coming in, can't be completely sure but Wednesday look like a very limited bunch of lower league cloggers so I'd expect them to spend the season down the bottom end of the table.
4 points out of 9 for us. Leeds and Blackburn and Swansea. Scored In every game but conceded in every game. If we tighten up at the back and get a few more signings then I'd be confident of top 6. At the moment I'm going to say about 8th - 10th.
We're no world beaters but we've just got too many solid, experienced, Championship pros in our ranks to be involved in the relegation fight imo. I'd say we've only put in one really decent 45 minutes of football and we're sat on 7pts in 3 games. Huddersfield, QPR, Wednesday and Rotherham the early contenders for me.
