    Only way I could see that of happening was if he retired whilst at the club as he would have been a one club legend. That said not something I really agree with or tbf would be that bothered about either way (for us I mean ).

    A team can have a history of a century or more..It's obvious that lots of great players have already worn every single number...Retiring numbers is idiotic..Thank the Yanks for these commercial crap..

    Yeah was delighted when he announced he would take that number (he was 8 at Leipzig anyway). Someone finally with the balls to take over Gerrard's shirt. Can't wait to see him here!
