Sell him on for a profit? we are talking Darren Gibson here. Ironic thing is a you haven't bought a player for what? 2 years, when you do its Darren Gibson Friday 13th well and truly struck Everton today.
Seems as though Baines is headed to Old Trafford, so Moyes is inquiring about Aly Cissokho as his replacement. Also interested in Kieran Richardson.
Everton have confirmed there has been no approaches for Kieran Richardson and have not been approached by Manchester United or any other club for Baines.
What was the general opinion from Everton fans no Timmy? He's pretty much a national hero for us but that's because it's rare for an Aussie player to make it big. I'm happy he's gone to a high profile club that can match his ability. Don't get me wrong cause NY are no Barcelona, but it sure as hell beats the crap of playing in the A-League which he'd dominate...
He's been a brilliant player for us but it's best that he moves on. He hasn't been the same since he got back from the Asia Cup in 2011. I wish him all the best and every Evertonian I know says the same. Hopefully we'll have a pre-season friendly with NY Red Bulls next year so he can come back to Goodison.
As someone who follows MLS being in the States, NY and LA are our equivalent of Barcelona and Real Madrid. Certainly not in skill of player, but if you compare those 2 franchises to all the others, they are on TV the most, they get the highest-profile non-Americans(Keane, Beckham, Henry, Marquez, now Cahill), they are in the 2 largest media markets, etc., so in that regard, they are like Barca and Real compared to all the other teams.
We are here but the truth is that during the summer its pretty boring being an Everton fan so we hibernate.
Steven Pienaar had a dazzling loan spell at Everton during the end of last season. In terms of game time, there is no doubt that Pienaar will start for Everton on the left hand side of midfield, nailed on. During his loan spell at Everton, he stated all 14 matches baring Spurs where the terms where conditional. Moyes is quite frugal and won't let a £5 million player stay on the bench.
