Roma was already in time wasting mode in the 2nd leg of the semi-final against Bayer Leverkusen. Disgusting. I'm glad that they lost the final in the penalty shootout. Serves them right

btw: Time wasting when it was 1-1. To bring Roma into the penalty shootout? That worked well in the end

    Mourinho :finger

Didn't see the game but seemed to go much as expected. Feel for the Roma lad who scored an OG and then missed in the shootout.

Anyway congratulations to Sevilla on winning the Europa League.
Commiserations to Sevilla on qualifying for the Champions League.

Videos of Jose harassing Taylor in the carpark after the game are circulating, hope he gets a lenghty ban. Thought Taylor did a great job aside from letting the play acting and time wasting get out of hand. Perhaps Jose should have got his team to kill the game off when they were winning instead of retreating, letting Sevilla back into the game and bitch and moan about the slightest decision going against his team.

Last night was borderline disgraceful behaviour by both clubs, players and staff alike. I understand the emotion but there waa no respect for the officials at all. In their face at every decision. Something needs to be done about it. Its not even like there were lots of bad decisions. Ref made the right decisions mainly

Knowing the problems that referees have grassroots, things like this are really worrying. It's become so acceptable for managers to react in the way Jose did towards the referee, and this sort of behaviour needs to be strongly stamped out if we're not going to get people replicating it on a Saturday or Sunday morning to a local ref being paid £40 for the privilege.

On the pitch both clubs were far more of a disgrace than any refereeing decision that was made. Both clubs were cheating throughout, feigning injury, wasting time and dissent throughout. They ended up adding on 11 minutes in the second half of extra-time, and there's only 15 to be played.

The guy is an embarrassment. Always been an embarrasment since his Porto team winning the uefa Cup against Celtic ( I'm over it honestly) with his dark arts anti football right up until now. So so sweet to see karma is alive and well in his decline.
Edit: share the video if it's as bad as Pedro caixinha arguing with rangers fans in a hedge

Mourinho waited for him in the car park after the game and was extremely critical in the post match presser.

The man is unbelievably toxic in failure.

Some fanbases are hornets nests you shouldn't shake up. Roma fans are one of them. Mourinho should be ashamed. The fear on the faces of who I assume are his wife and daughter is terrible to see.

I hope he gets a serious ban.

Jesus, look how afraid his missus looks in front of him. Imagine travelling to see your family member take part in something that's a huge achievement in their career and see them treated the way they have been.
It's about time FIFA and UEFA really came down hard on abuse of referees. Get someone in from rugby to write the rules around it. Start sending people off and it'll soon stop.

All this over one potential penalty which most think would have been harsh to given (sure some might have but that is the inconsistency of the handball rule) and a player potentially being sent off for time wasting (because he then scored a penalty in the shoot out*)

*Jose does know Sevilla would have just picked someone else doesn't he?

Goodness knows what might have happened he has made a real howler!

And no doubt had that penalty been given we'd be hearing the Sevilla team and fans complaining.

I don't like Mourinho, he has always cried more than he should, but thats Mourinho being Mourinho.

    BUT

I have to say this, he was right on this one, and Im not saying he should go after the ref in a damn parking lot, but about the refereeing and the match.
Fact is, lets be honest, Sevilla are overly protected in the Europa League, its embarassing. What Mourinho had to see was not even close to what I had to see in 2014, that wasnt just bad refereeing, it was a damn Scandal. 3 shockingly obvious penalty a red card forgiven to Moreno after he took Sulejmani out of the match and for months with an Ugly Ugly scissor, Beto defending every penalty away from goal line, ironic that this year they remembered keepers had to be on their spot.

I have no respect for Sevilla, i have no respect for their Europa League Record, it was (mostly) built on a lie and obvious protection from UEFA, its a bit of a trend among spanish teams really.

He overstepped the mark with the car park thing. He knows what he was doing, and how public it would be. He basically made harassing the guy in public fair game and hey presto - look what happened.

As for the performance, I don't think the ref was biased towards either side. Just think it became a harder job than it needed to be because of the behaviour of the two teams throughout.

I think refs are always mindful not to want to ruin the spectacle of a final by sending someone off, but eventually it made no sense to me seeing all these yellows dolled out and imo it eroded Taylor's authority on the game.
