You will notice a big difference when you come to Turf Moor this time, it's now a fortress and the place is buzzing and full to the rafters! Man U & Everton found out the hard way! The danger is we now underestimate the Black Cats because we are not playing a Top 5 club after Man U, Everton, Chelsea and Liverpool. It's vital we get 3 points and get our season back on track and I believe with the vocal fans behind them we can do it

looking forward to this one, should be a noisy affair as Sunderland fans offer there fair share.

as for the match i can see it been an open game with plenty of goals.
    hopefully coming from us :D

ps: does anyone know if there will be any Stanley donation buckets in an around the ground that day, hope so.

Big game now after the two previous predictable results. I would actually settle for a point in this to steady the ship.

Sunderland are a great side in my opinion and have some fantastic players that could walk into a lot of teams in the Premier League, but our home games are so important to us this season and I think even getting a point from this game will be good for us, it’s another point towards safety.

I would especially like a clean sheet from this game to settle the nerves of our defense again which looked like a solid brick wall before we faced Chelsea and Liverpool away. Would also be great if either Fletcher or Pato scored as well, they’ve both come so close to scoring this season already it’s bound to happen!

Paterson should have scored in most of the games we've played, had some great chances and blown the lot of them.

Think we'll lose myself. 1-2 Darren Bent with a double :(

I have a feeling we could turn it on here (i'd still settle for a point) Hopefully we'll play well and grab a few 2-1 Sunderland.

No disrespect to Burnley fans but I'm looking for 6 points off you lot this season (I'm sure you've heard that one before for Mancs and Scousers!).

However, I'm aware you lot are formidable, so if we aren't up to our best we'll find it hard to get anything out from this game.

I think McCann needs to be kept an eye on, I think he's a bit of a class act and underrated.

I think most supporters will feel they can take points off us and i dont have a problem with that at all. Makes it even better when we turn them over.:party

Chris McCann is a good player and was my tip to be our stand out player this season. I know quite a few Burnley fans still have doubts about him though. Should score a lot more goals than he does for the number of runs he makes beyond the strikers.

Yep agree, Gatti! Love being the underdog with everyone expecting to turn us over! They are in for a rude awakening at home. Our only danger tomorrow is that we think we could be having an easier ride after Man U, Everton, Chelsea and Liverpool. We have to ensure we are not complacent

Think we should be used to being classed as the underdog by now, we were underdogs to most teams last season and every other season in the championship (divisoin 1)

Well done Burnley. We were pretty dire in the 2nd half after a good first half performance. Just fell apart in the 2nd 45 and you fully deserved the win.

    Hope you stay up! :thumb

Just saw the highlights. I thought Nugent's both goals were really well constructed. I really liked the 1st goal he scored. Brilliant teamwork, brilliant cross, brilliant header, brilliant winner.

I really hope you stay up. As I put a tenner with a friend of mine that you will and it's always nice seeing a promoted side playing good football and prove the critics wrong by staying up. You have a fantastic manager and a stadium with character. I can't wait for the trip to Turf Moor this season, although I hope the wooden seats issue has been solved now!

I had a butt-rash the last time I went there!

For all the ball Sunderland had first half i thought the only player who looked dangerous was Darren Bent. Why's Bruce Leaving Jones on the bench and putting Campbell in his place. :confused

I think Steve Fletcher and Martin Paterson look a little bit lost for us, neither of them take up good spots for a team mate to find them or if they do its nowhere near often enough. Although our passing wasnt the best today the second and 3rd were quality moves and finishes.

3 wins out of 3 at home you wont catch be moaning too much about that:bananadance nine points towards stopping up, just need to pick up a few wins on the road now. I've been fair impressed with Wade Elliott for us this season. I along with others doubted whether he could step up to this level but think he's been one of our better players so far. Did well to turn back after his run from the halfway line and then play it out to Tyrone Mears, another players who's been quite solid in attack and defence.

What was Carlisle playing at for the Sunderland goal though:laugh: , everybody else out of the defence stepped up well leaving Bent offside and then look across to Carlisle and see him five yards further back.

    Well done David Nugent :)

Exploited our weak left hand side of defence on three occasions and ended up with three goals. Not good enough. might be the last time (barring injuries) we see McCartney and Ferdinand in the back 4!

My thoughts exactly. I'm sorry to say it but he just doesn't look like he has the potential to be as good as many people were hoping. He has pace, pace and ermmm...pace? Doesn't seem a natural finisher and when you consider the height Jones gives us it was almost a joke decision from Bruce.

The defence once again was a shambles. Ferdinand needs to go, and I don't just mean get him out of the team, get him sold ASAP. If 'Arry wants him he can have him especially seeing as we now have Mensah and Da Silva. Even Noz would be a better option than that clown, Nyron gets far more criticism than Anton ever has but seems to make far less mistakes. Make of that what you will. :confused

But well done to Burnleh, you weren't a great team and playing like that against most teams will get you punished, but you can only beat what's put in front of you and I thought the second goal in particular was well manufactured. Good luck for the rest of the season!
