Nope. It feels like every decision against us is just a big F.U from them now. I just don't get how anybody in the world of football, never mind those literally sat looking at a replay of it - decide it isn't a red card? I get interpretation etc, but it's clear. It's stone wall. Rob Jones on VAR. The exact ref who I accused of corruption after the Boly farcical red card. ... you have to laugh as its so clear what's happening.
Not the most popular or liked I know but does he have a point here ? Big name ref in the middle who maybe doesn’t like being overruled.
Yeah, Moder should have gone. Felt like the ref tried to even out the fact he didn’t send Omobamidele off in the first half, the only problem of course being Omobamidele had already done that by scoring an own goal. I do also think MGW is very lucky too, his petulant kick out at Moder seconds before he puts the tackle in would have been far more of a talking point than it is if Moder goes down rather than slides in to another tackle. You can see it quite clearly in the highlights and even more clearly in the VAR replay. I suppose neither of those fit with the grand anti-Forest conspiracy though.
Yeah if Moder went down after the kick from MGW, it's probably a yellow card for the kick out. Moder didn't go down, and that challenge is a red card, VAR should have seen all of that and acted accordingly, but for some reason bottled it all.
That reason is becoming clearer and clearer each game... In the past I've always defended refs where possible as it's a tough job but the standard is absolutely awful and this boys club they've created is preventing the correct decision being made. I can just about accept a ref missing something on the field sometimes even if it's clear but there's absolutely no way that a bunch of supposed experts watching it over and over again from different angles are repeatedly missing blatant decisions out of incompetence. One bad game-changing decision is just the way it goes. Two bad decisions in a few weeks is an unlucky coincidence. Five/six in as many weeks and you start to wonder if something else is at play. Particularly when the calls aren't marginal in the slightest.
obviously as a £115m or whatever player Caicedo can do no wrong, all challenges perfect etc to be fair seen a lot of number 'crunching' on BBC have your say, side A commits 10 fouls and gets 3 yellows, side B commits 20 fouls and gets 1, but not all fouls are equal (some are more equal than others) personally in recent times I'm more in favour of a basketball points system, get a point for any foul, more if it is a more serious or cynical foul (or sin bin), and then get removed if you hit a certain total. that is assuming BB still does that, basing it on one film and vague knowledge of the sport from years ago (is of no interest, but the system suggestion is the point anyway) that ought to stop whinges about preferential treatment, and refs not booking players to avoid second yellows or try to let the game flow (recall one Merseyside derby where blues fouled away most of the first half, ref turned a blind eye, first foul by a red and he saw yellow. point is needs to be a fair and seen to be as well as actually fair system, as little subjectivity as possible)
I don't think anyone liked the sin bin idea when it was talked about earlier. All fouls are subjective so not sure how we can get around that one easily even if it's frustrating when there is no consistency.
Just a no, no, no for any sin bin, points system, brownie badges or crackjack pencils...leave all that shite in Basketball and co, doesn't belong in football at all. Just competent referees please, is that too hard to ask??? Oh and some decisions (proper ones, not fouls on goalie which are always subjective) going against Man City for once hey?
100% agree. All we should ask from referees is that they are honest. They're human (well most of them) and will make mistakes, we used to accept that before this VAR bullshit arrived on the scene. There have been more absurd decisions, more accusations of conspiracy and corruption in the last 4 years than the 40 years before them. SCRAP VAR
Tbf I love the idea of some chap playing the organ ( not that organ ) and it gets louder as a team gets closer to goal. Constant changes every two minutes and maybe get awarded 2 goals if you score from a certain distance. Could see this working.
We’re unlucky because both are such minimal contact but they are the correct decisions as far as I can see.
True takes a long time doesn’t it. Wonder if there is a delay on the communication and screen at times ?
Kai Havertz should have been sent off before scoring winner vs Brentford, according to the review panel apparently (and also that the Mac allister/doku incident wasn't a penalty) Are VAR allowed to award second yellows? Or does that still count as a yellow card decision rather than a red card decision
Before I add my two cents here, of course Havertz should have been sent off. He's dived, he should be booked. But I don't really know where the scope was to book him again. I'm quite confident the ref gave a goal kick to Brentford, not a free kick against Arsenal. And I'm sure VAR can't intervene and suggest second yellows. So how this review panel have come to this opinion is beyond me
