Off on my hols in the morning & going to the Hawthorns on my way back up.... So ive startred the thread now.. A new chapter in our history, get behind everyone involved.. Come on you Mighty Reds
Can't wait for first game of season will be watching abroad though, i will be brave and predict a 2 1 win - borini and allen on the score sheet. Joint top atm so must keep the pressure on the others up P.s. have a nice holiday
Steve Clarke will be out to prove a point. If the lads can put a shift in like they did on Thursday night I can't see past a win. Fancy a 2-0 win, Borini and Gerrard Bring me back a stick of rock Bic
Should be a good early gauge of what's to come. That's not to say it will be a 'do or die' game, or purely judgement of result, but how we approach it etc as well as how we play.
I'd take a 1-1. I remember last years performance at home which was a 2-0 loss and we were awful that day - each goal we gifted Liverpool was sloppy and poor on our behalf. We got an undeserved revenge at Anfield, but that was due to luck more than anything. It's a completely different game though next week, our team will look quite different, whilst both teams have two new managers! I really don't know what to expect...
I hope we avenge that abomination from Anfield last season. Other than that though, I hope Clarke does well.
1-0... West Brom could be solid under Clarke this season. Reckon we may just nick it but a bore draw would not surprise me. Need a win going into the game with City.
0-2 for us with Borini getting both. It'll be great to get off to a winning start for we have plenty of major tests coming our way at home in following weeks post the WBA match.
I think(hope) we'll nick a 0-1, one that hits the cross bar and bounces down over the line. Downing with the goal. Other than this game I hope Steve Clarke does well with WBA.
with wba so strong at home last season and with us entering a new phase I would suggest a draw would be a fairly good result although i will only be truly happy if we win 1-1
Then you shall not be truly happy. You cannot win 1-1 See you after 5PM tomorrow lads, may the best team win
Heart says win, head says draw- West Brom were a good team at home last season and I very much doubt they will have weakened now they have a tactically superior manager in Clarke (Hodgeson realistically is a tactically inept head rubbing dinosaur...) and have made what look like some very promising signings... Going to go out on a limb and say 2-1 to us, Suarez and Borini with the goals.
