I have absolutely no idea who’s going to win the playoffs. Bromley looked great in one of the games against us, not the other. Alty the same. Barnet looked good twice. Solihull fairly average and same for Halifax. So I have no idea really
I can confirm Barnet will not get to final. I've seen us lose since 1991 to Blackpool, Colchester, Shrewsbury, notts county, Borehamwood ,Peterborough never once making a final. Absolute no chance we will win. Has anyone got a worse record?
However, in all of those previous play-off campaigns we’ve been the lower ranked side with the deciding match away from home and we’ve gone into the play-offs in pretty poor form. Circumstances are completely the opposite this time.
Touche,.. I would have rather faced Solihull who we did the double over than you,.. but we may yet meet at Wembley
Having seen first hand the shithouse diving tactics Barnet perform last weekend I can't say I'm confident of playing them in a semi though.
They have changed the rules through the season before now, when they allowed Maidstone promotion from National South with a plastic pitch.
The National League board are going to put out a statement to ensure people forget about the total Horlicks they’ve made of this, by announcing Ron Martin as League CFO.
Really feel for Gateshead fans. What a joke. National League massively shown themselves up today changing decision over what happens now several times. so glad we’re out of it!
That’s crazy, feel like our record is similar (especially playing at Wembley which we’re yet to do, either old AFC or new ATFC). Since 2004, we’ve lost to Ebbsfleet, Tranmere, Carlisle, Rotherham in the play off semi’s, lost to Hednesford in the FA Trophy semi, Made the play off final in 2004 against Shrewsbury, which was played at Stoke. Swear we’re cursed
Our 2006 final was played at Leicester. But we've been to Wembley twice since then and won twice. But that play off final I remember sobbing in My chair. Didn't know we'd be going bust 2 years later
It's about as classless as them falsely accusing us of refusing to play, and their club / players mocking us for having to travel back up and missing out on the playoffs. I can understand the slight dig back this afternoon
Do you still think we went all that way, at a cost of over £20k, with the intention of not playing, knowing we’d have to do it all again the following week? The ref is the sole arbiter of whether the game is played or not, not either team, and if we had refused to play it would have been in the refs report and we’d have been fined. I’m beginning to think I’ve got the wrong mental Shayman blocked.
It could have done, yes, but the inference from Gateshead, and a good few Halifax, is we engineered it which is clearly bollocks.
