Massive result for us, putting a bit of breathing space between us and the bottom 3 before the busy Christmas period.

It was a truly awful first half and I thought we deservedly took the lead, because it was the only time anyone had a clear chance on goal. We were resilitent at the back and thoroughly deserved all three points. Davis and Morgan were brilliant all afternoon, but my Man Of The Match was Derek Geary, an absoutely unbelievable performance. Kozluk was ok but almost cost us the lead when he tried to be clever and lost the ball.

Gillespie and Quinn were fantastic again, Tonge did ok, looks alot better going forward than Montgomery, because he actually knows what to do when he gets the ball in an attacking position, but I don't think he was match fit. Jagielka was ok also, but is nowhere near the same player he is when played at the back. Personally I think he should play at the back or not at all.

Hulse was brilliant, held the ball up well and was always a threat, and Webber frightened their defence on numerous occassions, and if it wasn't for a fantastic save by Kirkland would've got the goal he deserved.

All in all it's looking better for us every week, players are beaming with confidence and are playing some good football at times. If we can get a point at Portsmouth I will be very surprised, but with the way we are grinding results out at the moment you never know.

On the negative side, but not on our part, the punch by McCulloch was an absolute disgrace, fair play to Morgan for saying nothing should be done about it because he apologised, but he deserves a severe punishment for that. Morgan must think there's some sort of conspiracy against him by the rest of the Premiership strikers at the moment!

Del boy has been awesome so far. Cannot fault him, been given an opportunity & has taken it. For others to force there way in now because the waY He's playing no way does he deserve to be dropped.

Agrre with Jags, excellent in defence & 'can do a job' in midfield' but really it's not the position for him.

Well was gonna go thru all the team singing their praises but the lot of 'em have been superb in this little run we've put together. Every man has played their part, committed, tenacious, & spirited to a man.

Nice to see us getting some praise from pundits n all. Some times said through gritted teeth but praise nonetheless. Anyhow who gives a flyin' what they think just so proud to be a Blade at the moment as we stuff their 'not good enough' claims straight back down their throats.

    Morgan - man of steel.

after getting to barcelona on thursday and finding out the tv company had movedthe espanyol v real game Id gone to watch to sunday as espanyol had uefa commitments midweek , thus spoiling my viewing pleasure, it changed to great joy in mybar about 4.50pm(bst) when it was confirmed wed won ,
even got highlights of the assault on morgan on spanish tv, who said , roughly translated , the engleesh prem is regularly plagued with this sort of crude challenge , then later on watched zaragoza and valencia kick seven bells out of each other,
got back this afternoon and cant wait for the 15 seconds of highlights on motd 2

Hopefully we can keep on this vein of form through January, and we might just be able to keep our heads above the relegation zone during the annual February/March shitstorm.
