Like the other question but roads to you dislike and why? I hate the M18 Between Thorne (Doncaster) - the A1 junction were it is two lanes. I also hate the York Ring road its always busy !
Driving through Leeds town center , Wakefield town center and Harrogate town center they have this stupid one way system!
A1307, fecking deadly, over 25 people died in the past 5 years!!! And its only a 14M bit of road between Cambridge and Haverhill A few links... Facebook Group A1307 Website Linton Conservatives Q103 FM Accidents Direct BBC.co.uk And this is just on the BBC website Here
On the way up to Sunderland away the other day it gradually dawned on me how much I've come to hate the entire A1 (M). 'M' in the loosest possible terms. Bloody thing goes on into the northern wastelands seemingly forever.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A1_road_(Great_Britain) It changes between a motorway classified road and single carriageway quite often.
If you are refering to the north outer ring road, then yes its a f*cking joke. Built on the cheap is an understatement.
Would it be easier to name best roads? Worst Roads that spring to mind: A12 (horrid surface, not wide enough for the amount of traffic) A14 (Also horrid suface, jammed packed with traffic around Cambridge, long and very boring) M5 (zzzzzz) Derby Inner Ring Road is horrible if you don't know where your going. Coventry Ring Road wasn't much fun either And avoid Birmingham Manchester and London city centres at all costs And theres probably more I've missed
The worst one near where I live is probably the A90 between Dundee and Aberdeen. A busy bit of dual carriageway that was clearly done on the cheap. They've improved it a bit but there are still a lot of right turns across the road and junctions straight on without a slip roads which can be pretty dicey (a lot of that's down to people speeding inappropriately though).
It's probably nice to drive if you're not in a hurry, but the amount of 50 zones and constant changing between 2 and 3 lanes is annoying. Plus I don't know what the areas like for the old Gatzos
Is it me or all the roads into Wolverhampton from the M6 just rammed with unnesecery traffic lights? It takes an hou to drive something like 4 miles.
I get the fun of that on Monday afternoon, can't say I'm too thrilled about the prospect. Hopefully Mr Sat Nav will show me the way.
yeah avoid it mate if you are going on the out skirts plan your route so you miss the centre puts 10 mins on your journey but well worth it worse now they have trams too roads blocked off and daft routes through nottingham grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I drive on it every morning and it has to be one of the worst by a mile.A 20 yard slip road when you have lorrys smashing down the road at 50+ is not the best way to start your morning. I think the RAC voted it one of the worst A roads in the country.
M25, when your not sitting in traffic chances are you end up ghetting done for speeding, most gantry's have speed cameras on the back Oh and the A27/M27 coast road. Its quicker to go from Brighton up to reading along M4 and down M5 to exeter (for west country) than go along the coast. The A27 goes through the centre of Worthing/Littlehampton and Chichester, bloody slow road
A57/A628 between the end of the M67 and Glossop, it's the result of what happens when Greenies have a bigger say (30 minutes to go 2 miles being perfectly normal even during 'quieter times)
I actually didn't have a problem with it to be quite honest. Straight off the M1 to our hotel in the city centre, parked up next to Rock City. Coming out was a bit of a bugger, with the 1 way system on Talbot St, but we managed it! Motorway is very well signposted in the city centre. Manchester next month for a gig, now thats one I'm shitting it about...
I agree. I go that route when I'm driving to Sheffield. The Woodhead pass on the way to Sheffield can be a bit of an arse to drive on.
