Well GYV didn't fail to deliver. When FTR inevitably win the tag titles back in the next year, they should put GYV over, as I am convinced they will be great champs. In the mean time, GYV vs HoB, Aussie Open and the Lucha Bros please. It does kind of annoy me that they split Best Friends, as losing Santana and Ortiz and Sting/Allen no longer possible means, they are still kind of short of teams, 3spexially considering they have RoH and 6 man belts to worry about too.
They should just bin the trios division tbh they only really did it for The Elite anyway and it would strengthen the tag team division.
I agree, as the tag division wasn't team enough for two group belts, especially as they seem to be slowly killing off factions in AEW, much like WWE. When AEW first started factions felt more like NJPW, where basically there were a few large groups, now it's not so prevailent.
They'd be better off leaving the trios titles for ROH. AEW has too many titles on their shows as it is, so less would be more for them moving forward.
I liked GYV in NXT, and thought they were really sharp in their Collision debut. Definitely some great match ups in AEW for them in the future. Between AEW and ROH there are too many titles, so unifying the Trios was a good first step. Keeping the ROH titles enclosed in ROH would be a good second step. I understand showing the ROH titles on AEW programming (i.e. Bennett/Taven in UK promos), but keep them out of matches, pre-shows, etc. I'd look to losing a singles belt too, either the International or Continental. The International has been around longer, but the Continental at least has its unique "no interference" gimmick. The FTW title is an easy target, but it's basically AEW's hardcore belt and that's always potential for fun.
the WWE Draft hasnt really shaken stuff up too drastically its separated a few people who historically have fueded (e.g. LWO and Legado Del Fantasma) and brought a few people up from NXT there doesnt seem to be a definitive list of who has been retained and who has crossed brands without you knowing what brand they represented beforehand (that i can find anyway)
Yeah bit pointless really but I am excited by the NXT call ups Carmelo Hayes (being a first pick) Dijak, Ilja Dragunov & Lyra Valkyria are all gonna put on banger matches I hope they don't just chuck Ilja into Imperium to replace Vinci though. I like Damage Ctrl moving to RAW too as Smackdown has too much star power in the women's division and RAW needed to get some more now Rhea is injured.
There's a few that are still to be decided no? Who went "Undrafted" outside of those who are on the injured list?
All the champions were locked so them can't think of anyone else major apart from Roman who withdraw from the draft.
Ethan Page gone from AEW. Didn't really pull up trees there and was dumped into one of the many groups they have early doors A TNA return is likely, although wasn't he technically killed when he left there???
Smackdown is a great watch this week. A white hot crowd can make the most run of the mill match look exciting.
Became a midcard "jobber to the stars" quite early on. Entertaining guy though, good on mic and in ring so I hope he does well.
Hopefully Page ends up back in TNA. Backlash starts shortly, not really expecting anything unexpected to happen, though it would be amusing to see Priest have a very short title reign.
Now that I was not expecting (although it makes a lot of sense) guess they are saving the other debut for summerslam maybe.
Thought Backlash was quite fun, even though it was very predictable. The crowd was great too. Gotta say though. Priest isn't champ material imo.
Well Priest's next challenge will obviously be Balor...I hope they let him have the run he should have had when he debuted on the main roster. Crowd made that show, it was probably one match too light for me.
