    Agreed, lacking was being polite.

Turned on for the last eight minutes. Hopefully I catch all the excitement :D

Hopefully Olympiakos pinch it. You'd feel for whoever misses the decisive penalty, particularly if Fiorentina win the shootout.

Not sure how Olympiakos pick themselves up in the shootout if this gets disallowed.

    Edit* never mind.
There'll be a few minutes added on still.

    It counts.
I reckon we could do with another 5 minutes of checking though. Just to be sure.

People might mock this competition, but the chance for teams like Olympiacos and West Ham to win European competitions is brilliant.

    Hopefully they can hold on.

It was great for West Ham and even Roma but this is a proper underdog story.

It's been so long since a team outside England, Spain, Italy or Germany won a European trophy.

I think they wanna stop all these seemingly early celebrations though, the Olympiacos players. Games not over.

Chuffed for Olympiakos. A rare wonderful story in European football.

As my newsletter says that I posted earlier. That now fully justifies the setting up of this new competition. I have enjoyed it a lot since it was brought in but UEFA would have desired sides from lesser ranked leagues winning thus competition to fully justify it.

And to beat two sides such as Fiorentina and Villa to win it too. Can't say it's not deserved given they were underdogs both times

    Congratulations to Olympiacos and Mendilibar!

Brilliant stuff. I know they all want to be in the Champions League but would be so good to see some of the teams who are perennially knocked out in the group stages like the Lisbon sides, Istanbul sides, PSV, Copenhagen or even Celtic have a night like tonight.

    More nights like this please.

Glad olympiacos and a team from a league outside the top 5 won a European trophy just a pity they had to best a team who lost it last year. Also Fiorentina were the better team on the night. Some celebrations in Greece tonight

Gutted for Fiorentina another final loss for them but fair play Olympiakos history makers.
