I am a bit bored, today no matches at the World Cup and Germany already out. So let's open this year's Bundesliga Season thread because today the DFL showed the schedule of BuLi 1 and 2. The 56th season of the Bundesliga opens on August 24th with Champion Bayern at home against Hoffenheim (3rd). This is now the 17th time that we have such an Opening match for the season with the actual Champion and normally it's a sure win for the Champ (13 Wins - 3 Draws). Another interesting match on the 1st matchday is Leipzig at Dortmund: The other dates of the season have not yet exactly schedule, this will be done on July 9th. Bayern - Hoffenheim (Friday 24th) Dortmund - Leipzig Gladbach - Leverkusen Hertha BSC - Nürnberg Bremen - Hannover Freiburg - Frankfurt Mainz - Stuttgart Wolfsburg - Schalke Düsseldorf - Augsburg And in the 2nd Bundesliga HSV will have a home match against Holstein Kiel, 3rd placed last year (lost their promotion playoff matches against #16 Vfl Wolfsburg from BuLi 1). Our season already starts 3 weeks before the 1.Bundesliga, on Aug 3rd. HSV is already in training camp since June 21. HSV - Holstein Kiel (Friday, Aug 3rd) Regensburg - Ingolstadt Bochum - Köln Union Berlin - Aue Darmstadt - Paderborn Heidenheim - Bielefeld Dresden - Duisburg Fürth - Sandhausen Magdeburg - St. Pauli btw: After the Relegation the HSV clock has a new "job" from now on. It's not counting anymore the consecutive years that the HSV is (was) in the Bundesliga ( "in der Bundesliga seit " (Bundesliga since...54 years...) Now it's counting from the date of formation of the original club: 'Tradition seit...." (Tradition since ....130 years...). The same on the HSV homepage (actual Screenshot) @Andy-gers1 : Could you please sticky this new season thread again (and "unsticky" last year's season thread) Thanks.
Hope Hamburg have a good season @Dirk and you get back to where you belong. Get all of the wasters out of the club. Have you made any signings yet?
Thanks. I hope so. Walace to Hannover 96 (@Bleeds asked me about him in the old thread because it looked like that Brighton was interested). Kostic is out with Serbia in the World Cup and maybe leave too, Albin Ekdal is still at the World Cup with Sweden. I think he'll leave too if someone is interested New ones are, so far, David Bates, 21 year old Defender from Glasgow Rangers. Khaled Narey 23 year old Midfielder from Greuther Fürth, Christoph Moritz, 28 year old Midfielder from Kaiserslautern. Alen Halilovic is back from loan at UD Las Palmas after 1 1/2 years and Pierre Michel Lasogga is back from Leeds United. btw: September 30th is our Derby with St.Pauli (first at home)
Hannover 96 will be the "new HSV" for the new Bundesliga season. After Walace last week they took US Boy Bobby Wood, too ( one year loan with a buy option). Thank you for taking both, 96 In Hamburg we call Hannover 96 sometimes (a bit mockingly) "kleiner HSV (little HSV)", originates from the full club name " Hannoverscher Sportverein von 1896".
less than 3 weeks until the 2nd Bundesliga starts with HSV vs Kiel. Can't wait. btw: the new HSV Shirt for the 2018/19 season: Nice gimmick on the back "HSV" in Morse code. Suitable for a Hanseatic city
G'day chaps... I just noticing the Bundesliga Fantasy comp has opened up again for the upcoming season so wanted to share. Just new here so not sure whether im allowed to post a link or not ? And really wondering if there's any Bundesliga Fantasy players here and or a fantasy league.... I am also looking for tips to see whether there is a Salah, Eriksen, Hazard equivalent in the Bundesliga midfield..i have Reus, Rodriguez maybe Robben? , but wondering who this year are the cash cows, bargain players, up and coming stars etc Any tips would be greatly appreciated. First game up i am looking to use Lewandowski, Selke, Uth up front... Rodriguez, Caiuby, Caligiury, Havertz in the midfield Naldo, Piszczek, and Oczipka at the back With Ulreich in goal That's as far as i've got So now looking for some bargain basement subs if any one has any bright ideas..
One of our talented young players, Francisco Geraldes has joined Frankfurt on loan for the season. Think it could be a brilliant move for him and he’ll end up there permanently. Fuming that we’ve not given him a chance this season
Frankfurt even tried to sign him permanently but Sporting only permitted a loan deal. Fredi Bobic, Eintracht's Sporting Director is convinced that he'll be a gain for the Eagles. Geraldes is quoted with "Eintracht is a big club. Playing every match in front of 50.000 is exactly what I want. I am very happy to be here". That's exactly what Eintracht Fans want to hear
3.Liga started yesterday with Eintracht Braunschweig (relegated) vs Karlsruher SC (last year #3) at the Hamburger Straße. Only 1-1 for the Löwen but I hope they'll get soon in the mood after their dramatic last matchday relegation last season. Actually I am watching 1.FC Kaiserslautern vs 1860 Munich at the Betzenberg (aka Fritz Walter Stadion). Traditional Bundesliga clubs and very sad to see the Roten Teufel (Red Devils) in the 3rd tier for the first time ever. Hopefully they'll be promoted straight away. Brilliant crowd of 40.000 for this match. Next Friday the 2.Bundesliga starts with HSV vs Holstein Kiel and in 4 weeks the Bundesliga. League Football, at last!
F##k that, I hope the Lautern bastards stay where they are. Nice that they beat the Giesing rabble though.
Today's the Day. HSV's first ever match in the 2nd tier. I am a bit nervous but also excited. The match will be a sell out (57.000) but that was to be expected. It's a bit of a new start atmosphere all around the Volkspark. I hope the team won't be too nervous and a win in the first match is very much welcome. On the other hand, last season HSV won the first two Bundesliga matches and we all know the end of it .
