Good to see another club on top of the Bundesliga (yeah, it's only the 1st matchday and last season Dortmund was there too until the 8th or 9th matchday, but you know what I mean ) -------- Buli2: Good to see that St.Pauli's good start with 2 wins in the first 2 matches came to an end at Union Berlin. 1-4 against "die Eisernen" which gives them the lead of the 2nd tier with 7 points. HSV today in the "Montagsspiel" against Arminia Bielefeld (they had a decent start with 4 pts from 2 matches). I'll be there!
The Home Office of Saxony has cancelled tomorrow's 2nd Bundesliga match between Dynamo Dresden and HSV because they need all their police to be in Chemnitz (the former Karl Marx Stadt of the GDR) after the incidents of last week there'll be another ****ing demonstration (and counter demo, of course).
Wow, Werder Bremen! Hate to admit this but that was impressive yesterday in Frankfurt. Now they've got Nuri Sahin from Dortmund, so they could be even better. Could be Europa next year for the first time in ages for Werder? And Wolfsburg was impressive, too. 3-1 win in Leverkusen. Bloody Leverkusen with a classical "Fehlstart" and Bruno Labbadia could win for the first time in 13 tries against the Aspirins. Top of the table: Bayern. That's a surprise.../season end ---------- It's a pity that the HSV match was cancelled. They are in a really good flow with 3 wins in a row where they scored at least 3 Goals. Now we have the bloody international break, so the next match is at 15/09. At least a home match (against Heidenheim) btw: "Open door Day" this weekend in Bielefeld (vs Jahn Regensburg) and Hamburg-St.Pauli (vs Köln). 5-3 in both matches, thankfully the Hamburg match was an away win Köln is on fire.
Bruno Labbadia seems like one of those typical coaches who does well at a club for a period, then fails and gets hired by another club. I feel he’s been coach of loads of Bundesliga sides over the last few years
That's right. He has the image of being a "Fireman" for clubs in dire need to be rescued. Bruno seems to have coached "them all" but since 2009 it was "only" HSV (2-times), Stuttgart and now Wolfsburg. Was out of business for some time after fired by HSV in 2016. So I am glad that he got another job (even if it is Golfsburg). I for one will always be thankful that he saved HSV in 2014/2015 (although under very dramatic circumstances) and gave HSV the only relaxing Bundesliga season in this decade, in 2015/16 with the 10th place. btw: Labbadia is, as far as I know, the only player who scored 100plus goals in Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga.
HSV just won the rearranged match in Dresden with 1-0 (although Lasogga failed with a penalty in the 95th minute...anyway ). 4th win in a row in the 2.BuLi and first place. Not bad after the disastrous 0-3 in the 1st match . If only we had hired Christian Titz right after we sacked Gisdol and had not wasted weeks with the useless Hollerbach. Anyway, old news. I knew that my last post with the standings would backfire sooner or later but I never thought that it would be so fast: 0-5 at home against Jahn Regensburg. ****, that was really a shite day. First of all, these Sunday kickoff times in 2nd Bundesliga kill me. 1:30 pm (12:30 pm UK). Made it to the stadium just in time and couldn't believe our starting team. 6 changes from last game. Rotation time as if we're playing in Europe. Don't know what Titz was thinking here but it didn't work at all. The defense was a catastrophe and our goalie Pollersbeck thought that he's Franz Beckenbauer before the 0-1. Well, he's clearly not. But he's not the only one to blame. With 0-3 behind we got an (undeserved) penalty. Aaron Hunt himself and he shot it like a 5 year old. Even I had saved this ball. FFS, this was shit right from the beginning. Second half "explosion" and getting the equalizer? No way, implosion and we even got 2 more (could've been even worse). Köln got a 3-5 home defeat last weekend but at least they showed something. We did nothing of it today. That was a reminder of our darkest times (mostly against Bayern) and hopefully a warning at the right time that you can't take anything for granted in the 2nd Bundesliga which is way more competitive than the Bundesliga. Köln now back at first but at least we're still 2nd because Darmstadt, Fürth couldn't win (resp. lost) either. Next matchday already from Tuesday til Thursday. HSV has to play at Fürth (#4, 1pt behind HSV) on Thursday and then next sunday the Hamburg Derby against St.Pauli. ****************** BuLi1: Bayern won 2-0 at Schalke. No problems for them, of course. Boring!
Bayern lost 0-2 in Berlin. Not the best week for the Bazis with only 1 out of 6 points and so they lost their lead at the Bundesliga (only temporarily of course. We all know that they're back there asap. it's inevitable). Anyway for the moment Dortmund got the lead with a just reached 4-2 away win at Leverkusen. Together with the 7-0 against Nürnberg in Midweek they got impressive 11 Goals and 6 points from this week). Werder has a really good team actually (hope none of my HSV mates are reading here ) although they lost 1-2 in Stuttgart (with a slapstick goal from Stuttgart Goalie Ron Robert Ziegler) but this was premium football. Very entertaining match (and I like the end-result ). Schalke with the first win of the season after 5 losses in a row. *********************************************************************** 2nd Buli: Tomorrow is one of the rare days that we meet St.Pauli in a league match. In Hamburg it's of course the main topic for weeks now. Sell out crowd at the Volkspark, 57.000 expected. I have to go to bed early today that I don't come at the last moment again to the Volkspark (like last week against Regensburg). 1:30pm (12:30pm UK) kickoff again. ****ing hate this. If we lose this I won't be here for a few days!

As long as it's only a bit of banter it's okay but I hope it doesn't escalate in violence

Dortmund is on fire and Paco Alcacer the loan striker from Barcelona actually the hottest one. 6 Goals in his first 3 Bundesliga-Matches. That has happened only once before in the Bundesliga. In 1963 when HSV Striker Gert "Charly" Dörfel did the same. But Alcacer hasn't yet played a full match, 3-times substituted between the 60th and 70th minute. So, not even 90minutes at all. Dortmund scored 18 Goals in the last 4 matches (7-0, 4-2, 4-3 in the BuLi and 3-0 in the Champions League against Monaco) And Bayern? Lost their 2nd BuLi match in a row, now even at home with 3-0 against Gladbach. Combined with the 1-1 draws against Augsburg and Ajax in the CL , they are now winless in 4 matches. Stuttgart sacked Coach Korkut. The usual thing. He saved them last season and they made it nearly to the Europa League places but this season they are mostly clueless (except last weekends win against Bremen)
