We were linked again after having bid for him last summer before his move to France. I’d quite liked to have signed him as he had some good reports from his time at Maribor, but I think he’ll be a great pick up for you — especially on a free.
Transfer No 11 was done about an hour ago, Malcolm Ebiowei, a 20 year old winger from Crystal Palace, on a season long loan. We're still looking at another 3 or 4 signings, but will need to put a couple of the squad out on loan due to squad size limits.
Best of luck, we had him on loan two seasons ago and he was absolutely terrible, never looked interested, did almost nothing.
Yeah, doesn't seem as though the loan to yourselves really worked out. He seems quite highly rated elsewhere, and is now at an age where he needs to start progressing, so time will tell, as it always does with these type of loans. Out of interest, he's our only loan so far as the other ten signings are all permanents.
Some of it is to give us depth in the squad, which we needed. Some is to improve a few areas where we felt the need. Some of it to give us a few different ways of playing, which I think will be something we do against certain opposition. Our manager is very much a young, progressive, coach (ex City Group) and wants the tools at his disposal to play his way, but also to be able to change things in game if needed. Another factor is that some of the signings are asset building, youngish players with the potential to be worth decent money if they do well.
Blondy Nna Noukeu signed from Stoke City as (probably) 3rd choice goalkeeper on a 2-year deal and a club option of an extra year.
Sara confirmed to Galatasaray. £18m rising to £23m. Was hoping we'd keep him but I guess it means we can now be a bit more proactive with rebuilding the squad.
Free transfer but a 20% sell on clause. Know **** all about either but I'll take them both. Replacement for townsend at left back. Would like to think another 4 through the door.
Still only 2 confirmed for us. Ridiculously boring and frustrating summer. We didn't sign a single player in January either.
We were going to get that LB, but Watford got a new one, meaning that we aren't selling Paal. Hopefully he's shit and we haven't missed out. Funny that the first game is vs us.
Like the look of this one. Man Utd/Man City graduate. Seemed to be well thought of by Portsmouth fans on loan last season.
Elliot Embleton leaves for Blackpool for an undisclosed fee () & Jay Matete joins Bolton on a season-long loan.
