We always go that roundabout, has about 5 pubs there , we always stop on outskirts, love a bit of Carr Mill on way to Merseyside.
Welcome back to both - think both are better placed to make a fist of it than any of this season’s promoted teams, for different reasons. Both will need to recruit well - Leeds need a defence, Burnley need goals. Tricky but we proved it is doable with a bit of luck.
It's between them and Coventry, Sunderland are far too inconsistent and have lost the previous 3 games. And I don't know much about Bristol City.
Parker's third promotion already. Don't think people gave him too much credit for the previous two but he has a knack for getting teams up.
Cov could still drop out, but I hope it's them. Got so close to promotion and a cup final in recent years and their fans have been pissed around with their stadium. They're also one of the classic 90s PL teams and I always enjoyed my trips up there in the early/mid 00s.
Possibly could fall out yeah. Didn't see that Boro or Millwall were only 3 points behind with 2 games to go.
To be fair though in all three instances he has taken over relegated teams. Yes you still have to get the job done but as we repeatedly see the parachute payment clubs are operating on a different financial level completely to the rest.
Yeah agreed - Parker’s main strength as a manager is interviewing well & being given jobs at the parachute clubs with the strongest squads. He can clearly organise a defence at Championship level, but made two good squads at Fulham & Bournemouth look ropey despite their promotions. Until he makes a squad over perform, or shows an ability to adapt to the top flight I won’t be convinced.
Yeah, this - Sheffield Utd are done, they're on an awful run of form and it generally seems to be the case that the team that finishes third in a three horse promotion race fails in the playoffs.
Chuffed for Leeds. Always had a soft spot for them with my Grandad Leeds born. Four Welsh lads play for them so what's there not to like about them.......my opinion Well done Burnley as well. League table doesn't lie.
Sunderland aren't fairing any better, won 1 drew 1 and lost 3. And those 3 defeats have been the last 3 games. I'll be mega surprised to see if Sunderland can upturn that form in the playoffs. Same goes for Sheffield United now that you've pointed the above out. (I didn't see they were in that bad of form before making my point).
Jaidon Anthony's loan to Burnley includes an obligation to buy upon promotion for 8-10m depending where you read. Be good for Anthony to settle down somewhere, but I wondered if Iraola would mind another look at him after a decent Champ season. Think Parker will want more hefty spending than that though. I imagine Leeds with their owner connections will be spending big?
Can’t see anything other than Burnley going straight back down, but only conceding 15 goals and going unbeaten since 3rd November is very impressive
