Me and the lad done a bit of an all day session in town yesterday, there was a lot of local chatter about Blues and Villa being at home on the same night and how chaotic it was going to be so being a young lad he wanted to have a mooch at how it played out...never saw a single Villa fan in five hours up there, not one!! no doubt Rock will be claiming Villa done Blues somewhere out there still though!!! Speaking of which, there were bloody hundreds of Bologne fans, every pub we went in, fair play to them, noisy buggers but all good natured. We wished them well when we left.
We're selling half and half scarves on Saturday for the day trippers. 22k tickets sold for it which is decent tbf.
And people call us plastic. That is shocking and an embarrassment. All it does is feed the Wrexham hype and makes you look like a small club who is playing one of their biggest matches in their history. I really feel for your genuine supporters.
Yep, seriously debating not even bothering. We’ve really bought into the circus and even got that YouTuber weirdo there. Be full of wankers and kids with no interest in Charlton, just wanting to get a glimpse of Goldbridge or whatever his name is.
I saw the picture of the scarves on Twitter, thought it was a wind up. Kind of insulted they never done one for our game, I’d have bought one, 100%, just for the craic.
I've not bothered going since February I was contemplating it now I can do stairs again, but there's now an extra 5 people in my row and I cba. Normally it's just me, my wife and the old man.
A fiver a pint isn’t to be sniffed at anywhere down your way, I spent a small mortgage the other week when we were down there, I swear it goes up a pound a pint every year!!
Pretty sure they'll make it Grolsch a fiver and keep Peroni at £7 It's decent before the game as you get it in normal glasses, but afterwards they use plastic cups which make it taste shite. Up town is worse, I've gone from £24k to £31k a year in 10 years and the pub nearest work has gone from £3.80 a pint to £6.40 even with NHS discount. I'll settle with my £1.25 can of Bud Light for now!
Oh dear , I'm surprised you've not done a b.o.g.o.f. deal & thrown in a film & sports star autograph book as well , kind of sums football up , gone is the community aspect it's all about the corporate bollox & getting as much cash out of the punter / mug punter as they can .
Away at the Reebok for Shop Window FC where our results are worse than an away day at Adams Park . Fernandez should be back after his ban & if injured Kyprianou has travelled with the squad they'll meet up with old schoolmate Klaidi Lolos as all 3 were at the same school together . As for the match , Bolton who spent I think £1m on Matete & around £800k on Schon the Hungarian international like Rotherham & Posh have started the season poorly though one things for sure they'll most probably be goals , in Posh's 13 league games so far they've been 50 goals scored ( last season 150 in 46 league games ) so on for surpassing that & we're the only team NOT to have kept a clean sheet in this division which i expect to still be the case at 5pm on Saturday .
A very easy 3-0 win at home to Leyton Orient with goals from Onyedinma,Humphries and Udoh,in our last 7 games we have won 6 and drawn 1 and are the highest scorers in League 1 and we are up to 2nd.
Played well first half against Mansfield, far too wasteful in front of goal. They deservedly got level in the second half and I’d say a draw was probably fair in the end. Played 8 of the ten teams currently placed behind us in this first quarter or so of the season. Next few games are all against sides toward the bottom end of the table. Two cup games up next, does seem very stop-starty in this league.
We are on a good run. Amazing when you consider we are under a transfer embargo and play a lot of our Youth team. No illusions about the rest of the season, we are just happy to have a club. risks are: we go into administration/ cannot pay our bills, we get points deducted yet again, We lose the manager to a desperate Championship team, such a QPR or Pompey, We lose one or more of our key players in the transfer window ( Wing, Mbengue, Bindon, Smith….) We get injuries, because our squad is very, very thin.
Wishing you all the best mate i always hate to see a club go under that effects the fans because foreign owners f*ck up big time.
Hope they didn’t miss the late drama ! Not sure why Parkinson was complaining about the penalty . Pretty clear cut by today’s standards tbh .
Nigel Clough doing a great job at Mansfield, a manager who spits talent further down the pyramid and develops them, or gets in thd odd older pro, to do a job like he has done with Gregory a great signing for division one.
